Chapter 141 Renee’s title

Renee had only ever seen pictures of Vin. Yet, from a distance, he was sure that the woman was indeed Vivian.

Vivian, in real life, looked even more charming and radiant than in her photos.

She sat next to Marcelo, her poise effortless, tinged with a yful girlish charm.

She was deep in conversation with Damian. They seemed familiar with each other. Vivian, not paying much attention to Marcelo, still angled her knees towards him.

This was a subtle sign of her interest in Marcelo.

Renee’s eyes narrowed, and she stopped in her tracks.

The ck jacket on Vivian’s shoulders… It belonged to Marcelo!

Renee recognized the Jacket she had picked out for Marcelo this morning, its unique cor standing out.”

It made sense for two old friends to sit down and share a drink together.

But why was Vivian wearing his jacket?

A server spotted Renee by the corner of the stairs, her lovely face disying a mix of shock and confusion.

    “Miss, do you need help?”

“No, no, thank you,” Renee replied, stepping back into the shadows, a sharp sting in her eyes as if they were pierced by something.

    Vivian was back.

Marcelo mentioned he had something to attend to. Was that something specifically to spend time with Vivian?

The guy who couldn’t stand anyone touching his personal belongings had actually offered Vivian his jacket?

Renee had once worn Marcelo’s jacket herself in front of the castle at the amusement park.

It felt like being wrapped in warmth and his fragrance, more intimate and exhrating than being embraced by him.

But now, another woman was feeling that same closeness.

Renee couldn’t believe her eyes, nor did she want to jump to conclusions about Marcelo.

She pulled out her phone, her fingers hovering over Marcelo contact. She wanted to call him, to ask where he was, what he was doing, and who he was with.

If he was honest, it would at least prove something…

He had been so sweet to her. He had made her believe he would always be faithful to her.She didn’t want to believe that he could be cheating on her.

He wouldn’t do that to her.

Before Renee could think of a reason why Marcelo was here with Vivian, a news headline caught her eye.

It read, “Famous jewelry designer Vivian Lambert is back in the country.KM Group’s CEO greets her with flowers, signaling a joyous asion soon for the two lovebirds.”

The article featured a picture of Marcelo in a wheelchair at the airport, presenting flowers to Vivia.

Renee felt overwhelmed, like she was suffocating and couldn’t catch her breath.

She inhaled deeply and turned to head back to the private room.

Marcelo, what are you looking at?Vivian chimed in, following Marcelo’s gaze, but all she spotted was a sea of unfamiliar faces. “Nothing.” Marcelo broke his gaze.

He believed he caught sight of Renee, but tlie lighting was too dim and all he managed to glimpse was a silhouette, without getting a clear view of the person’s face.

He figured Renee must be at the Hudson family’s ce by now.

It was probably just his imagination.

After a sip of his drink, Damian asked Vivian out of curiosity, “Why did you choose toe to Venus Bar tonight? And why stay in the hall instead of a private room?”

They usually visited the bar on Dove Ind.

“Venus Bar is well–known, and I’ve never visited before. I was just curious. The hall is so crowded, and I’ve been missing this kind of vibrant atmosphere while I was abroad!” Vivian yfully blinked. “I heard this bar was the pioneer in cklisting Andrew, so I just had to check it out.”

    ”

Vivian was aware of Sarah’s rtionship with the bar’s owner. She figured Sarah would often be here.

Even if Sarah wasn’t around today, chances were high that someone would see her and Marcelo sharing a booth, sitting close, with her wearing Marcelo’s jacket and they would probably tell Sarah about it.

And given Sarah’s rtionship with Renee, Renee would soon find out too!

Vivian had intentionallye to Venus Bar and stayed in the hall.

“Marcelo, it’s quite cold in here. Thank you for lending me your jacket today.” Vivian said, “I’ll give it a good wash and drop it off at your house tomorrow.”

“No need.Throw it away.” Marcelo declined immediately.

Jason let out a chuckle and said, “Vivi, have you forgotten? Marcelo wouldn’t put on clothes that’s been worn by someone else.” Vivian’s smile briefly faltered before returning to normal. “Oh, right, I forgot.”

In his mind, Jason added a note: except for Renee.

Marcelo was still thinking about the figure he had seen but couldn’t quite see. He wondered if Renee was being treated unfairly at the Hudson house. She had been on his mind all day.

Renee was smart and wouldn’t be easily put at a disadvantage. However, Naomi’s presence made things unpredictable.

Renee could be quite stubborn sometimes.

“I need to make a call,“He announced, picking up his phone.

The others moved aside to let him pass.

Vivian watched Marcelo leave, but Jason’s voice brought her back to the moment.

“Vivian, you’re back. Why haven’t you introduced your boyfriend to us yet?”

Vivianughed it off. “Jason, I don’t have a boyfriend.”

Jason nced in the direction Marcelo had gone. “Vivian, Marcelo’s taken now. You should find

    Vivian’s smile became strained.

    one too.”

She was aware of Renee’s closeness to Marcelo but had acted as if she didn’t know – it made certain things easier.

But Jason had just mentioned it openly!

“You didn’t know?” Jason watched Vivian’s reaction carefully.

    +25 BONUS

“No.” Vivian quickly regained herposure, pretending to be surprised and curious. “Who is she? Given Marcelo’s preferences, she must be a remarkable socialite.”

Damian felt confused by their discussion, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what was wrong Hearing Vivian’sst remark, he couldn’t help but say, “Is being a socialite the same as being outstanding? Not all remarkable people are socialites, are they?”

In his experience, only a few socialites could match Renee.

Jason couldn’t help butugh. “Exactly! Damian is right. But remember when you almost lost your underwear to Renee in poker? Why defend her now?”

Damian stood up quickly. “That’s not the case! I just let her win!”

He admitted to speaking well of Renee.

But he stressed he didn’t lose his underwear – that was an exaggeration!

“Vivian, honestly, don’t you think Renee is stronger than many in our social circle?” Damian brought Vivian into the discussion.

    “Renee is Marcelo’s partner!”

Jason tried hard to hold back hisughter.

It was funny how Damian used “honestly” to push his point!

Vivian, raised in the country, was familiar with Renee’s reputation

She had always viewed Renee’s title as a top socialite with a hint of disdain, never really considering her as exceptionally remarkable.

She was d that fate had done its justice by revealing the truth that Renee was not a genuine Hudson.

“Miss Hudson being called a top socialite means she’s outstanding “Vivianmented, then asked, “Damian, didn’t you have issues with Miss Hudson earlier? Howe you’re on good terms now?”

Damian waved his hand awkwardly. “I was being a jerk before. We’re on good terms now.”

Vivian kept smiling, but her eyes showed displeasure.

She never saw iting that Renee would grow so close to both Jason and Damian, with both of theming to her defense!

If she had known, she would’ve stayed closer to Marcelo instead of going abroad.
