Chapter 99 Have feelings
Gazing up into his eyes with a tentative smile, she ventured a question, “Marcelo, do you… perhaps, have feelings
…?”
Their moment was interrupted by a sudden knock at the door.
“Have what?” The knocking had obscured the end of her question, leaving Marcelo confused.
“It’s nothing,” Renee dismissed, shaking her head slightly
From outside, Luke called to Marcelo, “Mr. King, it’s time to leave.”
Marcelo tenderly cradled her face, stealing another kiss before announcing, “I must go now.”
He then opened the door and stepped out into the darkness.
Shortly after, the sound of a circuit breaker echoed, followed by the room being flooded with light.
The entire encounter felt like a fleeting dream to Renee.
She ran her fingers through her hair, vexed.
Did she really want to know his answer to that question?
Yes she did.
She knew she was in love with him now and she wanted to know if he felt that same.
But what if he doesn’t?
Would she be able to bear a rejection from him?
Or was it better not knowing how he felt at all?
Leaning back against the wall, Renee let out a heavy sigh. She was torn between feeling relieved that Luke’s interruption was timely and frustrated that he had disturbed them at such a crucial moment.
She was left wondering how Marcelo would have responded Would he have nodded in affirmation or simplyughed off her query?
“Miss Hudson, are you alright?” a staff member inquired upon entering the dressing room. “The power on this floor had tripped suddenly, but we’ve just managed to fix it.”
“I’m fine,” Renee responded, still pondering the coincidence.
The timing was too perfect. The power had failed just as Marcelo arrived. Surely, he must have tampered with the building’s electricity to evade the surveince cameras.
In the days that followed, Renee threw herself into her work with renewed focus.
On Friday, Sarah paid a visit to the set to catch up with Renee and brought along some intriguing news.
“I’ve got some information about that silver ne you were inquiring about, “Sarah began. “It turns out the ne was specially made for a young girl over 20 years ago by her parents. It symbolizes safety, happiness, and longevity. Unfortunately, not long after its creation, the family left the country, and there’s been no trace of them
since.”

“They left the country, so it’s unlikely we’ll hear anything more about them,” Renee concluded, feeling a wave of disappointment.
Sarah wrapped an arm around her, offeringfort. “At least now you know your parents had great hopes and love for you.”
Renee let out a small, resigned smile. “I’ve been searching for years, clinging to this token, yet all leads have vanished. Perhaps it’s my fate to be without a family. Let’s just forget about it. I won’t search for them anymore.”
When Catherine returned from her shooting, Sarah spotted her and turned to Renee.“Why does Catherine seem to pop up wherever you are? She’s like a bad penny.”
Hearing this, Renee couldn’t help butugh.
ncing at her watch, Renee stood up, removed her coat, and ced it aside. “Hang around for a bit,Sarah. I need to change into my dance outfit.”
Sarah looked puzzled. “Aren’t you the stylist? Why do you need dance attire?”
Renee exined, “The original dancer sprained her ankle. The stage and props are already set up,and this is the final scene I need to style myself. If I don’t finish the shoot, I’ll be stuck here for longer.”
Basically, Renee was keen to wrap up her work day early.
Shortly after, Catherine, having changed, approached Sarah. “Sarah, tell me what you desire and how I can make the owner of the Venus Bar apologize to me and Andrew. Do you want a house, a car, or a check?”
Sarah’s annoyance red up at the sight of Catherine. “If you bother me again, I’ll make sure everyone knows that you and Andrew are trying to bribe the Venus Bar’s owner.
That would be far more embarrassing.
“Hey!” Catherine stamped her foot, infuriated. “You and Renee are two of a kind.Pretending to be wealthy when your family’s bankrupt. And Renee, making herself a dancer’s understudy as if she could perform ssical dance just because she’s good at ballet. Ridiculous!”
Two hourster, Renee emerged, transformed into her dance attire and fully styled.
As the music started to y, its notes ringing through the air, Renee gracefully ascended the stage, her long sleeves trailing behind her.
As she moved in her red dance dress, the fabric flowed around her like blooming petals, enhancing the rhythm of her dance. Her expressions shifted seamlessly between frowns and smiles, embodying both grace and delicacy.
Her ssical dance performance was a blend of strength and softness, executed to perfection.
It was nothing short of a visual spectacle.
When the music finally faded, leaving only its echo behind, it was Sarah who initiated the apuse, snapping the audience out of their trance.
Loud ps filled the room, turning into a thunderous ovation.
“Amazing! She’s just stunning.”
“Renee’s dance skills are incredible, and her natural beauty just adds to her charm.”
“I remember seeing Renee without makeup for the first time and thinking how beautiful she was. She looks even more stunning in her costume.”

“It’s such a shame Renee isn’t in showbiz.”
“Quiet! Nora might hear you.”
Nora, wearing an outfit identical to Renee, always considered herself among the most beautiful in the industry. Yet, in that moment, she felt an urge to hide from Renee’s radiance.
Catherine’s expression grew sour.
She was taken aback by Renee’s ability to perform ssical dance; she had thought Renee only knew ballet. This reminded her of the Fashion Ceremony, where everyone was surprised by Renee’s banjo skills, even though she was known for being skilled at ying the violin.
A wave of insecurity washed over Catherine. She dreaded the thought of being overshadowed by Renee indefinitely.
The shooting process proved to be challenging. Renee had to dance three times to fulfill the multi–camera shooting requirements. Following that, Nora took on the task of performing the facial close–ups, and Renee had to instruct Nora on a few additional filler moves.
“Miss Hudson, given your wonderful talent, why don’t you join the entertainment industry?” Nora asked casually while she and Renee were taking a break.
Renee responded while taking a pause from her drink, “Everyone has their own aspirations. Personally, I’m not drawn to the entertainment world. Despite being your dance stand–in, I won’t take the spotlight.”
Nora grasped Renee’s sentiment. While Renee did outshine Nora on this asion, it wouldn’t hinder Nora’s career, opportunities, or footage.
Noraplimented, “Miss Hudson, you’re both beautiful and intelligent. It’s no surprise Mr. King holds you in high regard.” Nora’s smile broadened as she continued, “I raised a toast to Mr. King at his weing party that day. I hope I wasn’t too forward.”
It was evident to everyone that Nora had intentions of charming Marcelo that day.
However, at this moment, Nora was offering an apology to Renee.
Meanwhile, Sarah saved the video she had just captured of Renee’s dance on her phone. Since she didn’t have Marcelo’s number, she located Luke’s email on the KM Group’s official website and forwarded the video to him.
Marcelo had to see how amazing his wife was.
In London, Luke sent the video to Marcelo.
Thedy in the video was adorned, exuding grace in every elegant movement.
This captivating dancer was none other than Renee.
Despite Marcelo’sposed exterior, his gaze intensified with each passing moment.
While Marcelo had witnessed Renee’s charismatic and sultry jazz performance, her ability to master the enchanting ssical dance surprised him.
Luke exined, “Mrs. King is filling in as a dancer due to a crew requirement. Sarah sent me the video with a note stating that it was a gift for you. She likely didn’t have your number, so she sent it through me,”
Marcelo viewed the video so many times and finally stored it on his cell phone.
Surprisingly, he found Sarah somewhat useful for the first time, thinking that his impression of her had

improved.
He was badly missing his wife since he got here so this video helped a bit.
He couldn’t wait to be done here and be with her all the damn time.
