Chapter 98 Deal with him
Those descriptions certainly didn’t fit Susanna.
Marcelo just stared at Renee, saying nothing.
She quickly got his point.
Renee herself had been described as refined and kind…
Clearly, you couldn’t always trust what you heard.
On her way to the film set, she remembered something Alyssa had mentioned a name associated with Lambert. The name was Carole Lambert.
Outside the studio city, Susanna got into the passenger seat of the Bentley. She studied the young man driving. Quietly, she said, “I’m sorry…”
“For what?” he asked. He looked sophisticated and uttered softly, yet his presence felt somehow powerful. Susanna stared at her palm lines silently, not uttering a word.
The man questioned her, “Do you realize your mistake? Where did you go wrong?”
Confused, Susanna looked up. “I don’t believe I was in the wrong. I wasn’t involved with that crazy fan. It was Herman.”
She had a valid point.
The man, irritated, chuckled. “Then why apologize?”
“I did so because I upset you,” Susanna whispered, fingers intertwined. “It’s always the boyfriend saying sorry. Why is it always me apologizing to you? Even though you’re not keen on marrying me, I’m still officially your fiancée. Daniel, if you don’t make peace with me, I’m going to inform your dad about this.”
Her boldness in seeking forgiveness was unique.
Daniel Lambert had no option but to get the Bentley going.
Susanna, aware he was no longer bothered, smiled. “You know, there’s a talented stylist named Renée in the crew. She was my savior yesterday. She resembles your grandmother in her youth.” Daniel showed little interest. “Oh, what a coincidence.”
Susanna spent the whole year at home, which was why she was unaware of a secret concerning the Lambert family. Over a decade ago, many people visited the Lamberts‘ house, bringing along girls resembling Daniel’s grandmother, iming to be rted to the family.
However, it turned out that none of those girls were rted to the Lambert family. Some peo just used this opportunity to try to curry favor with the Lambert family.
Upon hearing about someone resembling his grandmother, Daniel no longer held any expectations.
“Renee, get the secondary lead ready. We need to move quickly.”
Right after Renee reached the set, Charlie’s assistant rushed her to the studio.

“Didn’t you already take Herman’s makeup shots? Weren’t they good enough?” Renee asked, puzzled. “Herman? He’s been reced. Didn’t you know? Didn’t you hear all the fussst night?”

Marcelo had kept her busy in bed the previous night, consuming a considerable portion of Renee’s attention. Thinking back, Rence realized she did hear some noise outside her roomst night.
The assistant remarked, “Last night, Herman was exposed for cheating and having a fling, even though he has a girlfriend. Turns out, histest song was actually stolen from someone else. Plus, he’s made some pretty nastyments about women on his 1*******m. And his dad’spany? They’ve been evading taxes… There’s solid proof of all this. He’s in deep trouble.”
In the world of celebrities, it’smon to have a few secrets. Usually, their agencies and PR teams are strong enough to keep these things under wraps. These scandals don’t usually hit the news, not unless they upset
someone.
The night before, Herman had a confrontation with Renee and Marcelo. Then, overnight, all of Herman’s dirt got aired out, including the mess involving his father’s business.
It was pretty clear who was behind all this.
Renee remembered Marcelo’s phone callst night, telling someone to get rid of the trash.
It must have been about Herman.
Suddenly, the crew’s attitude towards Renee shifted. They were extra helpful and polite, avoiding any small talk, probably scared of getting into trouble.
Renee acted as if nothing was wrong, going about her business as usual.
After finishing her tasks, Renee texted Marcelo, “Did you deal with Herman?”
There was no response from him.
Renee needed different makeup for the new secondary lead, so she headed to the dressing room for some essories.
Just then, the lights cut out.
A few secondster, in thepletely dark room, the door behind her creaked open.
As Renee turned around, she found herself pinned against the wall by the person who came in.
She resisted instinctively, her elbow connecting with the person’s face. Recognizing the scent of the person, she abruptly halted.
“Marcelo?” As her eyes adjusted to the dimness, she saw the familiar features of the man before her.
He merely snorted in response.
“You frightened me!” In annoyance, she punched his shoulder. “How did you get in? Aren’t you worried about being caught?”
Marcelo, wordlessly, drew her close and kissed her, filling the confined space with a burgeoning romantic air.
“Did you deal with Herman?” Renee inquired, catching her breath after the kiss.
“Who?“His lips brushed hers again. Her lips were intoxicating.

Renee was at a loss for words. Marcelo had evidently forgotten Herman. “The secondary lead in our crew, the one you confrontedst night,” she rified.
Marcelo admitted openly, “Yes, that was me. Any issue with that?”
“Not at all.” Rence was actually happy about his involvement.
Herman deserved it. That piece of shit had iting.
“Did you juste here for a reason? Couldn’t you have waited for me to finish work?” she asked.
“I’m off to London soon,” He replied.
Renee, pausing briefly, questioned, “So suddenly? Do you have business at yourpany? There’s no direct flight to London from here.”
“I will take a private jet,” he stated simply.
“I see,” She mused. “Will you make it back for Mrs. Moore’s birthday on Saturday?”
The uing Saturday marked the 50th birthday of Damien and Wyatt’s mother, and both Marcelo and Renee were invited.
Marcelo assured her, “I’ll be there.”
“Alright.” Renee tried to hide her frustration. “Will you bring me a gift? As Mrs. King, I think I’m entitled to one.”
She certainly was.
With a smile,Marcelo asked, “What would you like? A bag? Diamonds?”
“I’ve heard about those unique masks from private shops in London. Could you make me one?” Renee suggested. Noticing his slight frown, she added, “If you’re short on time, maybe a box of maple tea from London?”
Marcelo could easily purchase ready–made maple tea, sparing himself both time and effort.
This variety of maple tea was a recent addition to the tea market and quite scarce in their country.
“Okay.” He nodded in agreement.
His height was notable. When he stood close to Renee, pressing her gently against the wall, he had to bend down to meet her gaze.
In that moment, Renee felt as if she were enveloped in his world.
