Inside 645

    Chapter 645

Morgan’s eyes lit up at those words. Until now, he had assumed Jayson felt nothing for Ariel, but recent events had nted seeds of doubt in his mind. Otherwise, he wouldn’t havee up with the idea of getting Jayson’s help to boost the Sanderson family’s business.

Still, Morgan thought it inappropriate to suddenly raise the issue of the materials right then.

“If that’s truly how you feel, then Ari is a fortunate woman.” Morgan smiled. “Still, our family has been-”

Jayson nodded slowly. “Have you heard about the project in Guilmant that’s being funded by an overseaspany? ording to Bluum Corp’s assessment, the project will generate considerable revenue in the future. It’s a safe and solid venture. If you’re interested, I can put you in touch with the right people.”

Morgan immediately straightened. He knew that any project Jayson endorsed had to be exceptional. ” Wouldn’t that be too much trouble for you?”

“Of course not. After all, we’re inws.” Jayson nced at him. “However…”

Morgan’s stomach tightened. He hated hearing that word. “Is there a problem?”

Jayson lowered his gaze, pouring himself another cup of tea without replying.

Arthur caught the cue and spoke in his stead. “Mr. Sanderson, you may not realize how manypanies are vying for a ce in that project. The requirements are strict–both in terms of scale and minimum

    investment.

“At present, yourpany… probably doesn’t meet the criteria.”

Morgan’s expression twisted. “Not even with Jayson’s rmendation? Couldn’t they show some

    leniency?”

Arthur smiled faintly. “They’re an overseas corporation. Their rules and regtions leave little room for exceptions. It won’t be easy, and the odds are slim. Perhaps you should consider ways to expand yourpany’s scale first?”

“Expand the business scale?” Morgan thought bitterly. The only realistic path was to take out a loan since the Sanderson Group’s current funds were insufficient.

Jayson kept his gaze lowered, tracing the rim of his cup with one finger.

“Caution is wise, Mr. Sanderson. But in investments, sess often requires grit and courage. Opportunities like this are rare. If you feel it isn’t right, we can always wait for the next one.”

He stopped there, making no further offer of help.

Morgan sat there torn and restless.

Arthur added, “Competition is fierce. Once the project isplete, participants stand to gain at least ten to twenty percent profit. That’s why the standards are so strict.”

The words made Morgan waver. Still, he refrained from answering right away. “Let me think it over, Jayson. The Sanderson Group’s finances aren’t exactly stable.”

Jayson nodded. “No worries, I understand. Ultimately, the choice is up to you.”

Morgan had a frown on his face as he exited Bluum Tower. He had already instructed men to investigate the Guilmant project and would wait for their assessment before making a decision.

But he trusted Jayson’s judgment. If the project had caught his eye, it must hold real promise. Perhaps a loan–whether from a bank or other lenders–was worth the risk to expand thepany’s scale.

ncing back at Bluum Tower, Morgan sighed inwardly. He couldn’t rely on Ariel, who now seemed more aligned with the Larkins than with her own family. Ironically, Jayson had treated him with more courtesy than she ever did.

At Faye Technologies‘ office, Ariel met with Noah and the tech team to resolve a data issue.

By the time they finished, it was already evening, and Chad still hadn’t returned.

Janice insisted on staying the night at Ariel’s ce, and Ariel had no choice but to relent.

But as soon as they stepped out of the elevator on Ariel’s floor, they saw Jayson waiting. He appeared to

have waited for quite some time.

He leaned against the wall, straightening when he heard the elevator doors open.

Since her pregnancy had been confirmed, Ariel’s eyes hardened at the sight of him. Her lips pressed into

    a thin line.

Jayson noticed her pallor and frowned, stepping toward her. “Why do you look so pale?”

Janice’s anger red. She instantly thought of Ariel’s illness and how the abortion would only worsen her suffering. Her eyes brimmed red as she shoved Jayson back. “Don’t touch her! Do you have any idea how much pain and misery you’ve caused her?”
