Adide didn’t wait for him to finish.

She answered directly, “I already told you–Styxwarden can choose to guard them yourselves, or you can turn them over to the Capital Guard for centralized management. The choice is yours. If you keep them, you have to ensure they don’t leave the capital and don’t contact anyone. The main conspirator in the treason case hasn’t been caught yet.”

Stanley felt a little relief, but pressed on. “If they’re managed by the Capital Guard, where will they be sent?”

“We’re contacting various shelters in the capital to see which one is big enough to house them.”

    “Shelters?”

Stanley rubbed his hands nervously on his knees. “So, the living conditions won’t be great, I assume?”

“They’ll have enough food and shelter, but they won’t be living a luxurious life, no.”

Adide paused, then added, “But this is just temporary. They can leave freely once the treason case ispletely closed.”

“So, as long as the case is open, they have to stay in a shelter?”

Adide nodded. “That’s right. But if you can’t bear that, you can choose to keep them. Just know that you will be responsible for any problems that arise.”

Stanley immediately shook his head. “I won’t keep them.”

“If that’s your final decision, we’ll send people to pick them upter. I remember you and Julia have a daughter. Do you n to bring the child back to your pack, or let her go to the shelter with Julia?”

Stanley seemed to make a difficult decision. His voice was firm. “The child will not go to the shelter, and I won’t brought back to the pack. I will arrange separate amodation for her.”

Adide tried to reason with him. “Julia won’t be miserable in the shelter if she has the child— we can provide extra care for her. The child is so young. It may not be good for her to be separated from her mother and not see her father.”

Stanley waspletely against it. “That’s none of your concern, Gamma Adide. Julia cannot take the child to the shelter. She cannot have the child with her.”

Adide didn’t argue further. “Fine, we won’t force the issue. Lycan Erasmus has ssified them as victims. If you don’t want to house them, we will. As for your child, she’s your blood. I trust you will protect her.”

“That’s my private business. You don’t need to worry.”

Stanley clearly disliked her bringing up the child and changed the subject. “Is there anything else I need to rify? All of this goes to Lycan Erasmus, right?”

Adide answered professionally. “Yes, it has to be reported.”

    “Alpha Lance!”

Stanley turned to Lance, his voice pleading. “I’m begging you—please help me keep this matter quiet. Don’t let too many people find out.”

Lance noticed the sense of entitlement in his voice and didn’t respond kindly. “Again, that part of the process is Gamma Adide’s responsibility. You’re asking the wrong person.”

Stanley sighed deeply and turned back to Adide. “Gamma Adide, can this be handled discreetly?”

“We are already handling it as discreetly as possible. If we weren’t, I would have summoned you directly to the Ministry for questioning. You know this was never supposed to be public knowledge within the Styxwarden Pack. You were the one who didn’t take it seriously.”

“The Ministry has plenty of work to do; we can’t wait outside your pack forever. We investigated the Styxwarden Packst, which gave you plenty of time to prepare. Though, it is odd that you didn’t make any prior arrangements.”

    “I didn’t know Julia’s true identity before.”

Stanley waved a hand, looking defeated. “We’ve figured out what to tell the pack members. Now I just ask that you don’t let this leak outside.”

Adide said inly, “To protect these she–wolves, we won’t release any information casually. You should focus on controlling the people within Styxwarden and make sure the news doesn’te from your side.”

Stanley pressed his lips together, his entire body tense.

Adide didn’t care what Stanley was thinking. His refusal to cooperate from the start showed

    his arrogance.

Since he chose to have a secret lover and enjoy a temporary escape, he had to face the consequences now.

After Stanley left, work at the Ministry of Justice continued.

Hunt was subjected to a significant amount of torture during his interrogation.

The man who usually seemed so timid was surprisingly stubborn this time. He insisted he knew nothing and imed he, too, was a pawn used by Madison.

He sobbed as he argued, “I’m a victim too! Madison wronged me the most! She killed my wife, sent my kids away—she’s a maniac! Now she’s been caught, and I’m finally free of her control!”
