Luna Hespere’s worry shifted from crying to concern. “You’re right. Your father has always disliked Adide. Now she’s found something he couldn’t. He must feel awful.”

But then a thought struck her. “Didn’t they say she already had a daughter? Did you see the child when you went?”

“That was all talk. There’s no daughter,” Heath quickly exined. “There was only her and a house full of people watching her.”

    “Good.” Luna Hespere finally rxed.

Heath felt a slight relief seeing his mother settled.

But his grandfather would be a lot harder to fool.

Stanley himself went to talk to his father.

His father pretended to ept his exnation but still pped him and just said two words, “Get out.”

Stanley stumbled out of his father’s room, his emotionspletely chaotic.

He knew he couldn’t me Alpha Lance for this.

He had always lived by principles of kindness and modesty, but he’d made a fatal mistake with Adide.

He had been too arrogant with her. He simply didn’t respect her.

Regardless, he had to go to the Ministry of Justice. He needed to clear things up.

Otherwise, if the Ministry came looking for him again, he wouldn’t be able to exin it to the pack.

The Ministry of Justice had brought Madison in for questioning again today. This time, following Lycan Erasmus’s order, they used torture.

Her fingers were crushed, bones broken. She shook and sweated with pain but never cried out.

She was definitely a hard case with an iron will.

During the interrogation, Madison fainted once from the pain.

When she woke up, she was weak, but her eyes were still fierce. “Go ahead. Use whatever you’ve got!”

Since she challenged him, Dennis didn’t hold back. He used all the standard torture methods. That seemed to cure her stubbornness.

Madison stopped making threats after that and just silently endured the agony.

But even so, she never confessed. She didn’t name a single person involved.

Everyone had expected this. Cruel torture had been ouwed under the old Lycan King. If they used those forbidden methods, they might get a clue out of her.

But Lycan Erasmus would never bring back the old ways, at least not now.

He wouldn’t risk public scorn and losing the support of his people.

Stanley arrived just as Dennis finished reporting the interrogation results to Lance.

Adide was going through case files. She looked up when she heard the noise. “Should I leave?” she asked Lance.

She had already asked Lance what happened when she returned and knew he’d dropped that bomb because Stanley had made him wait for an hour.

If there hadn’t been a warning beforehand, Lance might not have gotten so angry.

But Stanley was told in advance and still deliberately vanished.

He was clearly trying to slight Adide, and that was what finally set Lance off.

Lance’s eyes were calm. “He’s probably here about his secret lover. This is your case to investigate. You don’t need to leave.”

“Okay.” Adide nodded and went back to her files.

Hunt hadn’t been tortured yet, but she figured he would just im ignorance, even if they did.

If he admitted anything, the entire Spectrehowl Pack could be wiped out.

So, Hunt would likely hold out to the end.

When Stanley walked in, his posture waspletely different.

He usually walked straight and tall, but today his head was down and his shoulders were slightly hunched. He looked defeated.

Lance had never seen Stanley like this.

It wasn’t hard to guess how much effort he’d put into facing the rest of his pack.

    But Lance felt no sympathy.

He had given Stanley a chance. Stanley’s own arrogance had brought him to this point.

Lance waved Dennis and the others out. It was a small, final gesture of respect for Stanley.

Stanley stood awkwardly for a moment after entering. He didn’t speak, or even offer a formal greeting. He just stood there.

Lance didn’t n on speaking first, so Adide broke the silence. “Alpha Stanley, please sit.”

Stanley finally bowed slightly, acknowledging Lance with a simple “Alpha Lance,” then nodded to Adide. “Thank you, Gamma Adide.”

He sat down, quietly thankful that he had tried to prepare himself.

But all that preparation was useless now that he was actually here.

He felt it would have been easier to be brought in for corruption than for something this shameful.

Stanley squirmed in his seat, but forced himself to ask, “Alpha Lance, what will Lycan Erasmus do with these she–wolves?”

Lance replied, “You need to ask Gamma Adide. She’s in charge of that part of the process.”

Stanley awkwardly turned to Adide, his eyes shifting away from hers. “Gamma Adide…”
