Chapter 346 - 347 - The First Civil War (XV)

"Others may see the Emperor God of Humanity as an indifferent and cold god, but to me, he was a fun, funny, and even childish grandfather. Even after thousands, tens, or hundreds of thousands of years, he still remained the same, all because he had a family to serve as an anchor in the indifferent and cold sea of divinity." Thoughts of Mique about her grandfather in the year 40,000 after the Conquest.

    ----------

When Mique blinked, she found herself in thep of the man sitting on the throne. Looking up, she saw a pair of purple eyes staring at her with a gentle and smiling look. A characteristic that his lips also demonstrated.

"Did you enjoy your time in the library?" Aenar asked with a smile while stroking his granddaughter''s golden, wheat-like hair. Feeling some threads of dark and chaotic energy in his granddaughter''s soul, his mood becameplicated.

This was a totally different energy from the one he knew, which showed that his granddaughter''s soul was not from this universe, and just like him, Mique was from another universe. However, that was not what mattered, but the curse on her soul.

Aenar discovered that the origin of this curse was a God, an extremely powerful God, and moreover, full of madness and horror. Honestly, the idea that his granddaughter was cursed by an Outer God was worrying.

Fortunately, Aenar could use his own aura to prevent the curse from continuing to spread through Mique''s soul. However, he could not free his granddaughter from the curse, which left him quite upset, as this curse was like a necrotic parasite feeding on Mique''s soul.

"Knowledge isforting." Mique said with a gentle tone while narrowing her eyes, feeling the hand on her hair. Whether it was Marika or Radagon, neither of them was as gentle with her, especially her mother, who despised her for being cursed.

Aenar nodded and asked with an amused smile. "Do you want to y with Caraxes?"

Hearing her grandfather''s words, Mique couldn''t help but remember the gigantic crimson dragon. She had seen dragons in the Lands Between, but seeing Caraxes renewed her perception of dragons. In terms of magnitude, the dragons of the Lands Between were like lizards next to Caraxes; there was noparison. The dragons wouldn''t even be enough to clean Caraxes''s teeth.

Especially after learning that Caraxes''s food was the cores of entires. And ording to her grandfather''s words, his dragon would eventually feed on stars or even ck holes in the future.

"No need, he must be tired from the events of my birth." Mique shook her head and refused her grandfather''s proposal. Although it was tempting to ride such arge and powerful dragon, she didn''t want to disturb his sleep.

"Caraxes likes you a lot. If you want to y with him, let me know, and I''ll wake that fat dragon up again." Aenar didn''t force it and spoke with augh, remembering Caraxes''s appearance at the end of the battle of Mique''s birth. The dragon liked the girl very much; if Aenar wasn''t alive, Mique might try to im the dragon.

Mique nodded, but she definitely wouldn''t be a spoiled girl to the point of waking the King of Crimson Destruction just to y. If others knew about this, it would be a stain on her noble name.

"Imperial Father, don''t spoil Mique so much." Naerys couldn''t help but speak with a slightly helpless tone about Aenar''s actions. Who was Caraxes? He was the Father of Dragons, the King of Crimson Destruction, the Scourge of the Dead, and the Red Judge.

He was the symbol of House Targaryen and a true enemy deterrent weapon. When humanity first came into contact with the Aeldari, the enormous dragon appeared along with Aenar and turned the arrogant Aeldari into polite and sensible beings.

Making Mique y with Caraxes was spoiling Mique to the extreme, at least in Naerys''s eyes.

"Your mother is always pending; she cares too much about trivial matters." Aenar rolled his eyes and looked at Mique with a tone full of affection. What was wrong with a grandfather spoiling his granddaughter? If anyone is bold enough to make aint, he will be pleased to teach who built the Imperium that person was in.

Mique rolled her eyes at her Grandfather''s words, but there was a smile on her lips. She had to admit, having a united family was quiteforting, unlike the fragmented family she had in her past life.

Her mother only cared about one person, and that was her older brother, Godwyn. When Godwyn died, Marika went mad and broke the Elden Ring in mourning and pain, a revenge against the Greater Will that took the most important person from her.

Naerys let out a sigh, she gestured with her hand, and a pile of papers flew towards Aenar. "Imperial Father, Reverend Mother Kinvara sent an urgent report."

Aenar, who still had Mique in hisp, looked at the report with a helpless and disappointed look. "Your brother is really stupid; he sacrificed an entire city to satisfy anesh."

Mique widened her eyes hearing her grandfather''s words. Although she didn''t know who anesh was, she understood that sacrificing an entire city was simply brutal and insane.

"However, anesh is really arrogant. Didn''t she think she could be noticed by me? Or rather, she is simply arrogant and despises me." Aenar burned the report in his hands and spoke with a touch of sarcasm.

Aenar was not surprised by this. In the eyes of the Chaos Gods, he was just the most interesting adversary. No matter how powerful Aenar was, in the end, he was just someone who would always be weaker than them.

''Just wait until I manifest my dimension in this universe, and I will be on the same level of life as you. I want to see your arrogant expressions when that happens.'' Aenar thought, showing a cold and quite intimidating smile.

He couldn''t hurt the Chaos Gods because the level of life was too different; it was like a third-dimension being trying to attack a fourth-dimension being. It was totally impossible, as the two were onpletely different levels.

"Who is anesh?" Mique asked with a curious tone. From what she understood from the few pieces of information she heard from her grandfather, she presumed it was a deity.

At the same time, she couldn''t help but be surprised by the number of gods in this universe. In the past, besides her mother and a few gods that other races worshiped, there were no gods. Even she failed to be a full-fledged goddess.

"That''s an adult matter." Aenar spoke in a calm tone and ignored his granddaughter''s dissatisfied expression. Looking at Naerys, he spoke: "Tell Kinvara to go personally; I want her to scare anesh. That bitch doesn''t want her ns to be discovered, so she will run away."

"Yes, Imperial Father." Naerys bowed with her hands over her belly and spoke in a respectful tone.

"I will pray for those poor souls." Although she was cruel and indifferent, she knew that there were more important things happening than the lives of hundreds of thousands of humans. anesh''s death was more important than anything else.

As for the souls, Naerys would pray for all of them. She knew that these souls became demons or food for the Chaos Goddess.

Aenar also knew this but chose to close his eyes and let anesh cause chaos rather than rm the Chaos Goddess. If anesh knew that he knew of her existence in the Material World, Aenar had no doubt that the Chaos Goddess would flee back to the Warp.

The reason for this was simple: if Aenar knew about her and did nothing, it meant that a great conspiracy was happening. And knowing Aenar since he reigned over a continental kingdom, the conspiracy was something big.

That''s why Aenar didn''t go personally. At the same time, he had to send an important figure to investigate, or it would be very suspicious for Aenar to simply ignore an entire city being sacrificed. Even a fool would know that there was something wrong with that.

Suddenly, Aenar looked up, and his vision crossed the walls of the imperial pce and reached the sky, where he saw thousands of imperial ships. The Legions had returned toos for the first time after the Civil War, which was still happening.

"Your uncles and aunts have arrived. Go greet them. Take Lyarra and Saera." Aenar touched Mique''s head and spoke with augh. "If Aegones, kick his leg and call him ugly."

Mique and Naerys looked at Aenar with helpless expressions. The Emperor God of Humanity, the Lord and Protector of Humanity, did not look majestic and sacred; he looked just like an ordinary and yful man.

Looking at the expressions of both girls, Aenar rolled his eyes. Maintaining the sacred and majestic image was tiring, and did he really need to pretend in front of his family?

"Stop looking at me and leave." Teleporting Mique out of the Throne Room, Aenar''s voice sounded in Mique''s ear, leaving the girl speechless at her grandfather''s childish actions.
