"My grandfather is a god, a god in every sense of the word, but he is more human than any other human who has ever set foot in this frozen universe." Thoughts of Mique the Gentle.
-------
Naerys walked through the library; it was a huge and ancient ce, somethingpletely inconsistent with modern times and the Space Age. This was perhaps the only library still with physical books existing in the Imperium of Humanity.
Walking in the light of the whitemps, Naerys moved to the right, and between the bookshelves, she could see a faint flickering light. Smiling, she approached and saw a small figure with long golden hair reading an old and enormous book with a look full of seriousness.
Seeing the figure, a tenderness appeared in Naerys''s eyes. She never thought she would love someone as much as she loved her own daughter. Because of Mique, she almost broke her vows, but after rethinking, she still continued as a Priestess.
"My little dragon, what are you reading?" Naerys approached Mique and pulled her into a warm and gentle hug. Seeing her daughter''s helpless expression, she couldn''t help but kiss her chubby and adorable cheeks. She truly loved her daughter.
Mique looked at the woman before her with a helpless expression but epted the hug without trying to escape. With her mother''s strength, it was impossible for her to escape, even if it were to another. Letting out a sigh, she spoke in a gentle and soft tone that greatly resembled Naerys: "I was reading about the Rise of House Targaryen to Power."
Speaking of which, Mique couldn''t help but think that Aenar and Marika were quite simr; both seemed to have been chosen by beings beyond humanprehension and became gods. Although there was no indication that her grandfather had been chosen by a being like the Greater Will.
At the same time, the scale of the Imperium of Humanity and Marika''s Imperium werepletely different. One covered fifteen percent of the gxy with thousands ofs; the other controlled a continent on just one.
Sitting on the library floor with Mique still in herp, Naerys held her daughter and made the book float before them. The pages of the book began to move non-stop, and in thirty seconds, the entire content of the book appeared in her mind.
"This book was written by a fanatic; it cannot be considered a book with truly concrete facts." Naerys said with augh, observing the ttery and exaggeration speaking about her father.
In the author''s words, Aenar descended from the sky riding on clouds and apanied by angels. The ground he touched turned into honey, and his touch could cure all diseases.
"I know, but there are some interesting facts." Mique certainly knew there was a lot of exaggeration in the author''s words, but she didn''t care, as the reading was interesting enough. "For example, he doesn''t hesitate to talk about the good things my grandfather did."
"But he ignored the atrocities hemitted." Naerys added with a smile. Was Aenar a saint? No, far from it; he was a tyrant in every sense of the word. Countless races call him the Tyrant, Despot ofos, or Demon of Humanity.
And these beings were right; he was all that and much more, but he was also a saint to humanity, an Emperor God who, in just over a thousand years, transformed humanity into a high-level race in the Known Universe.
"Remember Mique, any race other than humanity is our enemy. If we are weak, they would attack without any hesitation. In this Space Age, kindness means being cruel to yourself. Without the insatiable search for resources, humanity will wither, and we will be weak." Naerys exined with a gentle and warm tone. She might be kind, but that kindness was reserved only for her family.
"I understand, Mother." Mique said with a calm tone. Compared to her old world, this one was definitely infinitely crueler, bloodier, and with even more insane constant wars.
She still remembered the day she was born; her soul arrived in a different dimension, and she saw her own grandfather and the dragon Caraxes fighting against trillions of beings in a war that would make the conquest of Middle-earth seem like a children''s fight.
If she had been born into any other family, her fate would have been tragic, being devoured by trillions of demons. Fortunately, she was born into a family of gods, with her own grandfather being one of the strongest beings this universe has ever known.
"Your grandfather requested your presence in the throne room." Naerys said with a smile as she got up from the floor with Mique still in her arms.
Mique nodded her head and was not surprised. Her grandfather called her once a day to the throne room. The reason was simple: he wanted to see how her body''s situation was. Yes, she grew fast in this world, and in less than two years, she looked like a twelve-year-old teenager, but her growth stopped, or rather, became non-existent.
Mique had to admit, the curse that imprisoned her and her sister was still present in this universe. At first, she felt nothing, but as time went by, she felt the familiar energy inside her soul, corrupting her body.
Remembering her sister, Mique touched her rib and showed a determined look. She would make her sister be reborn in this universe. Fortunately, she had her sister''s soul trapped in her own soul, so it wasn''t difficult to make her reborn, especially in this world, where cloning technology existed.
Mique could create a body for Malenia and change Malenia''s body every time the curse corrupted her body again.
When Mique told her grandfather about the curse, she saw him show an expression of pure fury for the first time. She still remembered feeling, even if only for a moment, his aura. She would never forget it, as it felt like she was standing before a gigantic ck hole that, with its mere presence, could make time and space bow as if they were its subjects.
"How is the Civil War going?" Mique, who was in Naerys''s arms, couldn''t help but ask with a touch of curiosity. The Civil War was still happening and would take some time to end. At least her grandfather didn''t seem to be in a hurry; on the contrary, he seemed quite satisfied with how long this civil war wassting.
Now, the entire Imperium, known as the Cult of True Humans, had be a viin that needed to be eradicated at all costs. Humanity, which was once used to standing still and just going about life without any danger, seemed toe alive again and became active.
Today, technological advances have be much faster; more and more patents were registered, showing that fear was the true motivator for humanity to evolve more and more.
"Your uncles and aunts are returning after so many wars." Naerys said with a smile, happy with the arrival of her brothers and sisters.
Mique nodded her head, feeling a little curious about her uncles and aunts, especially Alysanne, whom her grandfather spoke of with such satisfaction.
"Alysanne the Great, Aegon the Assassin, Jaehaerys the Conciliator, Maegor the Strong, Aemon the Honorable, Daenys the Moon Princess, Baelon the Warrior." Mique spoke the names and epithets of her uncles and aunts.
All became famous in the civil war; myths and more myths were linked to their names, making them true legends, not just because they were the children of the Emperor God of Humanity.
"Except for Aegon, all your uncles and aunts are kind." Naerysmented with a proud smile upon hearing the titles her brothers and sisters had achieved. She was genuinely happy for them, as it was something they had always wanted.
Mique looked at her mother in surprise but remembered Aegon''s name. It was the first time she had seen her mother, who had always been gentle, speak with such antipathy about someone, especially her brother.
Seeing her daughter''s expression, Naerys sighed and spoke in a calm tone. "Aegon is different. Just because he is my father''s first male child, he thinks he has a right to the throne, as if what he has between his legs is important to control the Imperium."
"But Grandpa isn''t immortal, why does Uncle Aegon care about the Throne?" Mique asked with a genuinely confused tone. Her grandfather was immortal; even if all the stars in the universe went out, he could be the star that illuminates the Imperium.
How could a being of that level die? So, in her eyes, the title of prince or princess heir was quite useless.
"He only wants it out of greed and obsession." Naerys said, snorting coldly. However, this expression disappeared, and she smiled gently again.
"We''ve arrived." cing Mique on the floor, Naerys spoke and opened the doors to the throne room.
Mique raised her head and looked up the white ivory steps, where a true god sat on his Ruby Throne.
Her grandfather in this life and a being even stronger than her mother, Marika.
