?Chapter 1734:
When she had lost her memory, she had tried to run from him constantly. Now, with all her memories back, she still wanted out. Every promise she had ever made about never leaving him — every single one had been a lie.
Back at the Briggs family vi, William stood surrounded by destruction, fighting desperately to contain his rage. His eyes burned red, agitation coursing through him beyond his control. Ste’s words kept reying in his head like a terrible curse, each syble battering his already shredded nerves.
He seized the antiquemp from the table and hurled it against the wall with brutal force. ss exploded with an ear-splitting crash, and the sound brought Tasha running into the room almost immediately. Taking in the fresh destruction scattered across the floor, she knew exactly what to do. She pulled out her phone and called Jewell without hesitation.
Less than twenty minutester, Jewell arrived at the vi with Steven in tow. The scene waiting for them in the study made both men’s faces darken at once.
“William’s having another episode.”
Jewell moved forward carefully, working to settle William’s spiraling state. Steven stared at the ss fragments covering the floor, his brow creasing deeply. “What happened? What set him off this time?”
William lifted his gaze to them, the violent agitation inside him having ebbed slightly under his own white-knuckled effort at control.
Jewell guided him down into a chair with careful deliberation. “What happened?”

William’s face had gone deathly pale, his head hanging low. When he spoke, his voice came out hollow and broken. “She said we’re done. That there’s nothing left between us.”
Jewell and Steven traded sharp looks. Ste?
“William, take your medication first. Let me check your vitals, and then we’ll have Tasha clean up this mess. After that, we can talk everything through.”
William didn’t resist. He tipped his head back, swallowed the pills withoutint, and sat still while Jewell ran through the examination. The medication worked quickly, and the frantic tide of his emotions began to drain away, slowly and steadily, like water through a sieve.
The living room sat heavy with silence. Jewell turned toward William, who was seated beside him, stiff and wordless, and finally spoke. “What actually happened?”
Steven, hovering nearby, couldn’t hold himself back. “Why would Ste suddenly say she wants the two of you to part ways?” Mid-sentence, something clicked in his mind and his expression shifted. “She didn’t — she couldn’t have —”
Before he could finish, William cut him off sharply. “That’s not possible. No one told her.”
Steven’s eyes hardened. “You and I kept our mouths shut, sure. But are you really confident Alisha would do the same? She’s not an easy woman to deal with. If she was bold enough to set you up once, what’s stopping her from going straight to Ste?”
Jewell frowned, clearly lost. “What are you even talking about? Who’s Alisha?”
The fewer people who knew about what had happened between William and Alisha, the better — even Jewell had been kept out of it. With a tired sigh, Steven gave a brief ount of the night William had been drugged.
