Chapter 1847:
“Chrissie, I’m genuinely afraid sometimes that I’m only dreaming all of this,” Dn whispered.
“I feel that way too,” she said softly, rubbing slow circles across his back. “I think it’s because we love each other so much.”
“Promise me we’ll never be apart,” he murmured, his voice low and rough against her hair.
“I promise. As long as you stay loyal to me, I’m not going anywhere,” she replied, with quiet sincerity.
Dn let out a small, relievedugh. “I’ll never betray you. I’ll spend the rest of my life proving it.” He finally loosened his hold and went to find the hairdryer.
“Let’s get your hair dry first. Then we’ll go down for that porridge,” he said, taking her hand.
Once her hair was dry, he put the dryer away. “If you’d rather not go downstairs, I can bring the food up,” he offered.
“It’s fine,” Christina said brightly. She grabbed her clothes and turned toward the bathroom. “I’ll be quick, just let me—”
She moved too fast. Her footing slipped and she lurched forward. Dn caught her hand and pulled her toward him before she could fall — but in the same instant, the towel slid from her body and dropped silently to the floor.
She couldn’t catch it in time. She fell straight into Dn’s arms, and his hands closed instinctively around her waist.
It was only when his palms met bare skin that he understood.

Neither of them moved. The room held its breath.
Dn went rigid. He kept his gaze fixed somewhere above her head, too unsettled to look down, yet unwilling to let go in case she stumbled. Though they had been together for some time, this was a boundary neither of them had crossed — and the sudden intimacy of it sent the blood rushing to his face with an immediacy that rmed him.
Christina had always affected him easily. This was something else entirely.
“You—” Dn began.
“You—” Christina whispered at the same moment.
They both stopped. The words dissolved, and in the silence that followed, the air between them grew dense and charged, heavy with everything neither of them said.
Dn let go at once and spun away, mping his eyes shut.
“Cover yourself quickly — you’re going to freeze,” he muttered, his voice rough.
“Okay.” Christina dropped into a squat, snatched the towel, and wound it around herself before hurrying toward the bathroom.
The soft rustling behind him made Dn’s chest thud so violently he feared she might hear it. The thought only unsettled him further. His heartbeat thundered and his breathing turned thin and uneven.
When the bathroom door clicked shut, Christina sagged against it, her pulse drumming just as fiercely. She held her clothes against her chest and tipped her head down, a bashful smile finding its way to her lips.
By the time she stepped out again, she was dressed neatly from head to toe.
“I’m all set,” she said softly, ing up quietly behind him.
Dn turned and extended his hand. “Ready to go down?”
