Chapter 1842

    Chapter 1842:

Once they were inside, Edwin closed the door behind them and slipped back into the driver’s seat. A few quiet words from Christina, and Dn fell right into step. That was exactly the kind of influence the future Mrs. Scott needed.

“Chrissie, these are for you,” Dn said, offering her the bouquet of roses.

Her face lit up as she took them in both hands. “Oh my goodness, they’re beautiful. Dn, thank you — I love them.”

A smile curved at the corner of his mouth. Then he held out the jewelry box.

“I had this set made just for you. I really hope you like it.”

She epted it with a delighted grin. When she lifted the lid, a full set of pink gemstones caught the light and glittered back at her.

    T????u????????? o?? ????a???????? ???? g?????????el?.??о??

    “Wow… these are stunning. They’re so beautiful…”

Watching her genuine excitement settle something warm and quiet inside him. “Do you like it?” he asked softly.

“I love it. I really, truly love it.” She cupped his face in her hands and kissed him — once, twice, three times in quick session. “Thank you, Dn. I love everything you chose for me.”

When she pulled back, he pressed his lips together as though he were still holding onto the moment, a small, shy smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. His fingers drifted briefly to his lips.

    “Dn,” she said softly.

He looked up at once. Their eyes met, and his seemed to brighten — deep and warm.

“Can you help me put this on?” She held out the pink ne with a smile. “I want to wear it now.”

“Of course,” he said quietly, taking it from her.

Just the way her face lit up made him happy in a way he couldn’t quite put into words.

She turned her back to him. He let out a low, quietugh. She was impossibly adorable.

“What are youughing at?” she asked, catching his expression in the window’s reflection.

She lifted one hand to hold her hair out of the way, waiting patiently.

“I’mughing because my Chrissie is too cute for her own good,” he admitted, his smile entirely genuine.

Christina felt warmth rise to her cheeks and quickly changed the subject, her voice light and teasing. “Dn… my arm is getting tired.”

“Right — sorry. I’m doing it now.”

He pulled himself back to the task and carefully fastened the sp.

The pink heart pendant came to rest against her skin, catching every trace of light that filtered through the car window. The jewelry was already exquisite on its own — but on her, nothing couldpete.

“It’s called the Heart of True Love,” he murmured, his fingers lingering as he gently brushed her hair back into ce. “One of a kind. Just like you.”

Christina ran her fingers softly over the pink, heart-shaped pendant resting against her corbone.

She turned toward Dn and looped her arms around his neck, tilting her head with a smile. “Does this look good on me?”

“You look beautiful. Honestly, Chrissie, everything you wear looks good,” Dn answered without hesitation. Even a simple piece of jewelry seemed to take on a different quality whenever she wore it.
