Chapter 1841

    Chapter 1841:

Dn’s chest lurched. A smile broke across his face — wide and unguarded andpletely beyond his control. He reached for the door handle, then suddenly remembered the roses and the jewelry box still sitting on the seat beside him. He turned back for them, his usually steady hands trembling enough that the bouquet was awkward to grip and the jewelry box nearly slipped entirely from his fingers.

He was, by any measure, making a fool of himself. He knew it and couldn’t stop.

Dn finally got the door open and stepped out — and found that Christina was already standing there, waiting for him.

“You…” His voice broke before he could finish. “You’re really home.”

His eyes filled, and a deep, aching pressure settled in his chest, as though all the months they had spent apart had chosen this exact moment toe due. Even at his most pressured and sleepless, Dn had never lost hisposure like this. He was utterly defenceless.

    ?????’t ?????? ????w r??????????е?? ??n ????????о??e????.c????

Edwin stood a few steps away, watching in quiet disbelief. He had worked alongside Dn for years, and he had never once seen anything like this — the powerful, untouchable CEO standing at a kerb with roses in his shaking hands and tears in his eyes, undone entirely by the arrival of one woman. Christina was the only person in the world who could reduce a man like Dn to this, simply by walking through a door.

The formidable CEO had vanished. In his ce stood a man who had been lonely for a very long time, and who simply wanted the person he loved to hold him.

Christina smiled. She stepped forward and drew him into a firm embrace. Though she was far shorter than him, there was nothing tentative about it — she held him with the quiet ease of someone who knew exactly where she belonged. She looked, Edwin thought, like a queen returning to im what was hers.

Dn lowered his head against her and wept without sound. Christina rubbed slow circles across his back, equal parts tender and faintly exasperated by the theatrics, and murmured softly into his ear until the tension in his shoulders finally began to ease.

Edwin stayed right where he was, eyes fixed on the scene unfolding in front of him.

A quiet sense of satisfaction settled over him. Throwing in his lot with Christina had been exactly the right call — even Dn couldn’t touch him now. That same Dn, the one who could silence a boardroom with a single look, turned into someone entirely different the moment Christina was near. She really did have himpletely wrapped around her finger.

Christina held Dn close andughed softly. “Why the sudden tears? Did someone hurt you, Dn?”

“It’s not that. I just missed you. So much.” He held her gently, as though finally releasing something he had been carrying for a long time.

The words hit her harder than she expected. Her chest tightened, and her eyes began to sting. “You’re going to make me cry too, you know.”

“I’m sorry, Chrissie,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

“Come on — let’s get in the car before we end up in tomorrow’s gossip columns,” Christina said, nudging him gently.

    “Okay,” Dn replied.
