Chapter 1828

    Chapter 1828:

The servants and security personnel of the Jones family recoiled in horror at the scene, feeling nothing but relief that they had never crossed Christina or entertained so much as a disloyal thought. Anything less would have ended in utter misery.

Christina brushed off her hands and stared down at the father and son writhing on the floor with open contempt. Her tone was cial. “Who do you think you are, stirring chaos in my home?”

With her family nearby and her grandmother advanced in age, Christina had been careful not to upset them. Otherwise, she would not have restrained herself nearly so much. Those who opposed her were fortunate if death came quickly, sparing them a drawn-out torment.

As she turned toward her stunned family — the servants and guards whose faces were etched with fear — Christina softened her expression and let a trace of innocence show. She stepped closer to her grandmother and looped her arm gently through hers. “Grandma, was I too cruel?” she asked softly. “I hope I didn’t scare you.”

Florrie blinked back to herself, a gentle smile curving her lips as she gave Christina’s hand a reassuring pat.

“Of course not. You’re the sweetest soul one could ever meet — not cruel in the slightest. A little drama like this isn’t about to rattle me,” Florrie said with a light, easyugh.

Her eyes drifted across the room with quiet authority, and the crowd quickly fell in line.

“That’s right! Miss Jones is kind and lovely, not harsh in the least.”

“If anything, Miss Jones went too easy on them. She should havee down on them much harder.”

“They had the nerve to poison Mr. Hurley Jones — death would be letting them off lightly. Miss Jones is simply too merciful.”

The servants and security staff spoke up one after another, all insisting Christina had not been cruel.

“Miss Jones, you have the gentlest heart. Please don’t me yourself for a moment.”

Etta looked at Christina with deep gratitude, her voice thick with emotion. “Thank you for stepping in and saving me just now, Miss Jones.”

“It’s what I’m supposed to do, Etta. They dared to hurt you right under our watch. We were never going to stand by and do nothing,” Christina answered.

The Jones family guarded their own with fierce loyalty. They would stand up for anyone truly devoted to them — even someone from the household staff. Watching Christina defend her like that, Etta’s eyes filled with tears. She silently promised herself she would honor Christina even more from that day forward.

“I refuse to ept this! What gives you the right to say we poisoned Hurley? We never did anything of the sort!”

“Exactly! How does some DNA test prove we poisoned Hurley? Unless you show us real proof, we’re not admitting to anything.”

The father and sony sprawled on the floor, unable to rise, yet they kept yelling in stubborn defiance.

“Then I’ll make it crystal clear why you’re finished,” Christina said. She pulled out a tablet and opened a video file she had already saved. “Etta, y it for them. Let’s see how long they can keep pretending.”

    “Yes, Miss Jones!”

    Etta started the recording.
