Chapter 1637

    ?Chapter 1637:

Christina’s eyes shifted to Jordy. “Jordy, you’re up first.”

    “Okay,” Jordy answered.

La turned to Christina with a pleasant smile. “Bonnie, have you ever yed golf before?”

“I have, but not very often,” Christina responded evenly.

La assumed Christina had no real experience and was simply downying it to avoid embarrassment. That made sense — the Jones family had mentioned her rough upbringing, likely somewhere remote, so how would she ever have had ess to a golf course?

“Bonnie, make sure you really tryter and don’t give up halfway,” La said encouragingly. She could already picture Christina hacking at the ball again and again, racking up stroke after stroke. The thought nearly made herugh out loud.

“Okay,” Christina responded calmly, her gaze fixed on Jordy.

As long as he performed decently, they wouldn’t be humiliated. Whether they could actually win depended entirely on him. Even if she miraculously scored a hole-in-one, it wouldn’t guarantee victory — the final result was based onbined strokes, with the lowest total winning.

Watching herposure, La let out a softugh and looped her arm through Christina’s. “Bonnie, don’t be nervous. Even if you lose, it’s fine. The punishment won’t fall on you anyway — my brother will take it for you.”

Though La wanted to see Christina stumble and lose face, what she wanted even more was for her brother to step in as the gant savior. Her family not only hoped she could marry into the Jones family, but also wished for her brother to wed the Joneses’ most treasured daughter, further securing their standing. Twoyers of security were always better than one.

A faint but strikingly confident smile curved at the corner of Christina’s lips. She shifted her gaze and looked directly at La. “I won’t lose.”

Her words were firm, her expression unshakable — as though the oue were already decided.

By that point, Jordy had already taken eight strokes, and La was convinced Christina’s team had no hope. To her, Christina’s unwavering confidence bordered on the absurd.

“Yes, I believe in you, Bonnie,” La said, forcing herself to suppress her inner scorn.

Shortly after, Jordy’s final score was announced: eleven strokes — matching his personal best. A flicker of irritation crossed La’s mind. He had gotten lucky today. Both she and Gerry had underperformed, ending with results not much better than his.

Jordy walked back toward Christina with his head lowered, his mood heavy. Under normal circumstances, he would have been thrilled with that score. But today, he felt no satisfaction at all. He had pushed himself desperately to cut down his strokes, yet there was nothing more he could do. This was his absolute limit. He had hoped to break his record and give his sister a stronger chance — and the fact that he hadn’t managed it weighed on him.

“Bonnie, I really tried my best,” he said, stopping in front of her, his voice subdued.

Christina smiled and gently cradled his face in both hands. “That was incredible, Jordy. You did amazingly!”

If it weren’t for her sincere smile and the fact that she was his sister, he might have thought she was mocking him.

“Bonnie, do you honestly think that score is good?” Jordy asked, staring at her in disbelief.

“Of course. All my brothers are amazing,” Christina said with augh. She let go of him and gave his shoulder a light pat. “Jordy, just watch. We’re going to win this.”

Her confidence made her seem radiant, drawing every eye to her. In that instant, a thought shed through Jordy’s mind with absolute certainty — his sister was going to win.
