Chapter 1593

    ?Chapter 1593:

    Meanwhile, at the Dawson Group.

“What the hell happened? How did some tinypany steal our project?” Brendon mmed the file to the floor, fury radiating off him as he red at the project manager.

If they’d lost to a rival of equal or greater standing, he might have epted it.

But a startup that had barely existed six months had taken the project right out from under them. It was an insult—enough to make them the industry’sughingstock.

The manager stood frozen, sweat trickling down his temples. He couldn’t exin it. Everything had been set in stone, yet the client had abruptly changed their mind.

“Speak! Did you lose your tongue?” Brendon bellowed, grabbing the ss on his desk and raising it as if to hurl it.

The manager flinched instinctively, but Brendon stopped himself, mming the cup back onto the table.

Grinding his teeth, he yanked at his tie, trying to rein in his temper—but the fury simmering in his chest refused to settle.

The project manager trembled where he stood, swiping at the cold sweat on his face.

“Mr. Dawson, I swear, I don’t know why the client suddenly went with that smallpany. Everything was finalized on our end,” he said.

He had pinned all his hopes on this deal—a substantialmission and a generous bonus. It was supposed to be his big break. But out of nowhere, the client had switched to apany barely past its startup phase.

It was infuriating. The contract had been all but signed, and now it had slipped right through his fingers.

Brendon’s face darkened, anger simmering beneath the surface. Didn’t they see how reckless it was to trust such an inexperienced firm? The Dawson Group had the credibility, the track record, the reputation. Giving them the project should have been the obvious choice.

“Set up a meeting with their CEO. I want to see him myself,” Brendon ordered coldly.

The manager froze, struggling to speak.

“What are you standing there for?” Brendon barked, his patience gone. “Move! Or do you not understand in English?”

The manager wrung his hands. “Theirpany said they won’t work with us.”

“What? You mean they’ve cut tiespletely?” Brendon shot up from his chair, disbelief shing across his face.

This client was one of the Dawson Group’s biggest ounts—how could they have been snatched away so easily? Did that fledglingpany really have that kind of influence? Or had they offered some irresistible deal?

No—trusting apany that small made no sense. None of it did.

“Yes… their CEO confirmed it personally,” the manager stammered. “From now on, all their projects will go to that small firm.”

The more he spoke, the lower his voice dropped, his head sinking further.

At first, he’d thought he had personally offended the client, but he soon realized it wasn’t about him.
