?Chapter 1585:
Brendon fell silent. He knew she was right. They could have talked things through—but with Christina, it always ended like this.
She never bent, never yielded, and certainly never bowed her pride before him.
The Dawsons lingered uneasily, none of them eager to leave—but everyone knew how Christina was when her temper snapped.
When she struck, she didn’t hold back. One wrong move, and they’d be the ones in hospital beds with broken bones. Resigned, they exchanged wary nces before shuffling out of the room in silence.
Ynda, however, had no intention of backing down. Even as she walked away, her mind raced with schemes to finish Bethel off once and for all.
If the old woman regained consciousness, she might cling to life for years—and Ynda’s patience had long run out. She needed those shares, and she needed them soon. Only then could she focus on destroying Katie next.
Time was running short. If the Dawsons ever discovered her infertility, and if Brendon’s affection cooled further, they would cast her out without hesitation.
And now, with Vickie’s sudden reappearance, that creeping sense of panic only grew sharper.
“I’d drop those little tricks if I were you. Bethel already made her will. The moment she passes, every share under her namees to me.”
Christina’s voice came cold and sudden from behind, sending a chill slicing through Ynda’s spine.
Her scalp prickled as fury and dread collided inside her. Fury that Bethel would hand everything to an outsider like Christina.
And terror that she had almost let her walk away with it. If Ynda wanted those shares now, she would have to force Bethel to rewrite the will.
“Impossible! Grandma would never give all her shares to an outsider like you!” Katie shouted, her voice trembling with disbelief.
“She already transferred the Dawson estate to me. Why should this surprise you?” Christina’s tone was calm, almost indifferent. “And you’re an outsider too. In fact, your identity isn’t even one that can be spoken of publicly.”

Katie’s face went pale, fury and humiliation warring behind her eyes.
Joselyn stood rigid beside them, her expression twisted with resentment.
She had spent half her life in the Dawson household—bearing children, raising them, managing everything—and still lost to a woman who had only been married into the family for three short years.
Bethel had truly lost her mind. Joselyn was part of the family. The shares should have gone to her.
And if not her, then at least to Brendon—Bethel’s own blood.
Why should some outsider walk away with everything?
“You’re not lying, are you? Grandma really wrote a will and left all her shares to you?” Brendon’s voice broke the tense silence after a long pause, disbelief clouding his face.
Did Bethel really trust Christina thatpletely? Even after the divorce, she still chose to leave everything to Christina.
“I have no reason to lie,” Christina said coolly. “If I hadn’t refused, Bethel would’ve handed me those shares long ago. She didn’t have to wait until after her death.”
