?Chapter 1579:
A collective sigh of relief swept through the Dawsons—everyone except Ynda, whose jaw clenched so tightly it ached.
Weren’t the doctors supposed to be uncertain about this procedure? How could it have gone perfectly? Could it really have been Christina who saved Bethel?
She instantly dismissed the thought as absurd. Christina was a veterinarian, not a surgeon. There was no way she possessed that kind of skill. It must have been the other doctors who did the real work.
“You must be worn out. Let me take you home to rest,” Robin said softly, his gaze fixed on Christina with quiet concern as he noticed how drained she looked.
“I’m fine. I just need to change first,” Christina replied tiredly, pressing her fingers to her temples.
“Alright.” Robin trailed behind her, his eyes warm with admiration. “Your medical skills are incredible.”
Christina gave a lightugh and nced at him. “And what makes you so sure I performed the surgery?”
Robin didn’t even hesitate. “Because you never act without certainty. You said you’d save her—and you did.” His tone was calm but firm, filled with quiet conviction.
Christina smiled faintly and patted his shoulder. “You’re a good friend—your faith in me never wavers.”
“Good friend?” Robin muttered, brushing her hand off with a mix of irritation and longing.
Was she really that clueless? Couldn’t she see he wanted more than friendship?
Watching herugh so easily made something twist inside him. “You really know how to tease a man,” he grumbled under his breath, immediately regretting it for fear of sounding presumptuous or upsetting her.
But Christina onlyughed harder, unfazed.
“Careful,” she teased, her lips curling mischievously. “If I make your grandfather my godfather, you’ll have to start calling me Aunt Christina.”

“You wouldn’t dare!” Robin snapped, his ears burning. “That’s outrageously bold of you!”
“Life’s about being bold—about taking risks and chasing what you want. Otherwise, what’s the point?” Christina said with an easy smile.
“Of course. You always have a point, don’t you?” Robin muttered, his cheeks puffing out in mock annoyance. But the moment he caught the exhaustion shadowing her features, his irritation melted away, reced by worry. “You really don’t n to rest? You lookpletely spent,” he said quietly.
“I’ll rest once Bethel wakes up. I need to see her safe with my own eyes before I can rx,” Christina replied, her voice low but steady.
She had fought tooth and nail to bring Bethel back from the brink, and she wasn’t about to risk losing her again. She didn’t trust the Dawsons to care for her properly.
Once Bethel recovered, Christina intended to take her far away—somewhere they could never reach her.
“But you…” Robin started to protest, then stopped himself. “Fine. I’ll stay with you.”
He knew the bond between Christina and Bethel ran deep, beyond anything he could truly grasp.
Robin had unwavering faith in her judgment. He was ready to support whatever decision she made—even if that path didn’t include him. Her happiness was all that mattered.
