?Chapter 1577:
Ynda’s scheming and poisonous tongue never stopped. She constantly twisted things to turn everyone against Christina, and these fools still fell for it.
Thank God Christina had left the Dawson family. Staying would have only brought her more pain.
Ynda flinched at Robin’s tone. Tears spilled as she pressed herself closer to Brendon, looking every bit the frightened victim.
“Stop threatening us!” Brendon shouted, his voice sharp with anger. “If anything happens to my grandmother, I’ll make Christina pay!”
Blinded by fury, heshed out, using her name to throw the me at Robin.
Robin let out a low, derisiveugh. “You think you can? With me here, forget your family—even the Scotts couldn’t touch her.”
Anyone who dared harm the woman under his protection would answer to him. He would risk everything to keep her safe.
“She won’t be under your protection once she kills my grandmother,” Brendon retorted coldly.
“Who said she’ll kill your grandmother?” Robin’s re hardened, his voice edged with irond conviction. “I trust her. She will save your grandmother.”
“Don’t forget—she’s only a vet,” Brendon sneered.
“So what?” Robin countered sharply. “Who says a vet can’t be a brilliant surgeon? For all you know, she could’ve been one before changing careers.”
His faith in her was absolute. If she weren’t capable, why would Calvin have vouched for her? None of the Dawsons ever stopped to consider that.
“With her personality, if she’d ever been a surgeon, she’d have shouted it from the rooftops. Why hide it?” Brendon scoffed.
Before the divorce, she’d concealed everything. Afterward, she seemed to unt every skill and title she had, as if determined to prove herself to him.
To Brendon, Christina was just a show-off—someone who wore her sess like armor. A woman who lived to parade her aplishments wouldn’t suddenly start keeping secrets again. After all, every identity she had was already out in the open.

Joselyn jumped in sharply. “My son’s right. Wasn’t she always unting her status before this? If she really were a surgeon, the whole world would’ve heard about it by now. There’s no way she could’ve kept that a secret.”
Katie wiped her tears, her eyes swollen and red. “Robin, why are you fooling yourself? It’s in as day—she’s just a veterinarian. If she ends up killing my grandmother with her meddling, my whole family wille for her.”
Nestled close against Brendon, Ynda stayed silent. Behind her tearful mask, however, she was secretly smirking.
While the others still worried about whether Bethel would live or die, she was certain the old woman’s fate was already sealed.
Christina was just a vet, for heaven’s sake—how could she possibly save Bethel?
This was the top hospital in Dorfield, and even the specialists here weren’t confident. What could a veterinarian possibly do? Did they really think miracles just happened out of thin air?
Robin regarded the Dawson family with open disdain, a mocking smile curling at the corners of his lips. “Tell me,” he said coolly, “is stupidity hereditary in your family?”
