    Robin opened his mouth to argue, but she cut him off. “Enough talk. Just send me your casino’s security footage. I want to see what we’re dealing with.”


    “Alright,” Robin said quickly. He hung up and went straight to pull the footage.


    A few minutester, Christina’s phone buzzed. The files had arrived.


    It waste, yet the Millers didn’t look the least bit sleepy. The tension was thick enough to choke on.


    “Robin,” Celine asked, her face lined with worry, “since your friend knows Epic, why not just ask him toe himself?”


    Dayton, sitting beside her, gave a heavy nod. “Your mother’s right. If Epic steps in, we might actually win. If we wait until after tomorrow, even he won’t be able to turn things around.”


    The fact that Robin’s mysterious friend only wanted a simple dinner as payment made everyone even more uneasy.


    Robin gave a helpless shrug. “I don’t know, maybe my friend just wants to handle it personally.”


    Kurt’s brows drew together. He mmed his palm on the table and stood up. “If we lose tomorrow, the casino closes. For good.”


    His voice was deep and powerful, filled with years of authority. “Hmph.” He let out a low snort. “We, the people of Apresh, have pride. We’ll never surrender to a foreigner!”


    He would rather lose everything than let foreigners trample their dignity in public.


    The rest of the family exchanged serious looks and nodded in agreement.


    Even if the business went bankrupt, even if they had to start from nothing, they wouldn’t sell their pride.

    “Do you think the Miller family can survive this mess?”


    “Who knows? Depends on who they bring in to fight back. If they manage to get Epic, then maybe they’ve got a shot.”
