Chapter 1394

    ?Chapter 1394:

When they arrived, Christina leapt out and carried Ophelia inside. By the time they reached the emergency ward, Ophelia’s family had also arrived, their faces pale with dread.

“Her injuries are critical. Our surgeons aren’t confident they can handle the procedure. Do you consent to a transfer?” the doctor asked cautiously.

Christina understood immediately—time was against them. Even the best hospital in the city might not have a team prepared to take this risk.

“I’ll do it! I’m a doctor,” Jordy dered, stepping forward without hesitation. “I’ll perform the surgery myself.”

Though notpletely confident, he knew there wasn’t a moment to spare. Transferring Ophelia would cost her life, and there was no certainty anyone else could do better.

The hospital staff exchanged uneasy nces until Jordy produced his credentials. They recognized his qualifications, yet still hesitated. Allowing an outsider to operate carried enormous risk. If anything went wrong, the hospital would facewsuits, scrutiny, and chaos.

Before anyone could object, the hospital director appeared.

“Prepare the operating room immediately. Follow their instructions. I’ll take full responsibility,” he said with authority.

Moments earlier, Dn had met with the director privately, offering to donate state-of-the-art medical equipment and guaranteeing the hospital’s protection—regardless of the oue.

Under ordinary circumstances, such promises might have sounded far-fetched.

But this was Dn—renowned for both his integrity and his immense wealth. He could have bought the hospital in a heartbeat, with no reason to resort to deception.

The promise of Dn’s future investments had already tempted the director, urging him to act without hesitation.

“I’m his assistant. I’ll be in the operating room as well,” Christina announced firmly.

Ophelia’s condition was unstable, and Christina needed to stay close. If Jordy faltered, she would take over without hesitation. She had already lost someone she cared about once—she refused to let it happen again.

    She had to save Ophelia.

The director looked momentarily startled but nodded after Jordy gave a brief signal of approval. “Alright. No problem.”

Her family wanted to stop her, but they knew it was useless. If they denied her now, she would never forgive herselfter. So they swallowed their protests, eyes brimming with fear.

“Once we’re inside, stay calm and don’t panic. Ophelia’s going to be fine. Trust me,” Jordy reassured her quietly.

“I know,” Christina replied solemnly, her voice steady but her eyes shadowed with worry.

Before they entered the operating room, both underwent rigorous sterilization procedures.

“Stay calm, Christina. I’ve got this,” Jordy told her, his voice determined. “I’ll save her.”
