Chapter 1393

    ?Chapter 1393:

Howard fell momentster, twitching violently before going still, his lifeless eyes frozen wide in disbelief.

The remaining assants didn’tst long. Snipers hidden in the dark eliminated the rest, and within minutes, the entire vi was surrounded.

Dn’s men stormed in, swiftly taking down anyone who tried to flee into the shadows.

“Christina…” Ophelia’s trembling hand, slick with blood, reached up to touch Christina’s face. Her smile was faint but peaceful. “If I die… please take care of my parents and grandmother. My brother might look fierce, but he’s soft inside. Don’t be afraid of him… We all love you. And also…”

“Don’t say that!” Christina’s voice broke as tears welled in her eyes. “You’re not going to die, Ophelia. I’m taking you to the hospital right now. I won’t let you die—no matter what it takes. Even if Death himselfes for you, I’ll drag you back from his hands!”

Ophelia smiled weakly, her gaze soft with admiration. “Christina, you’re truly incredible… the most amazing person I’ve ever met. But I might not have the chance to learn from you. You’ve always been the woman I looked up to… In my eyes, no onepares—you’re the most remarkable person in the world.”

Christina gathered her into her arms, holding her close as tears streamed down her cheeks. “Don’t be scared, Ophelia. I’ll save you. I promise.”

“I believe you…” Ophelia whispered, her voice fading to a fragile murmur. “My family… please take good care of—”

Her words trailed off as her head fell limply to the side.

“No! Ophelia! Don’t close your eyes! Ophelia!” Christina’s voice cracked, trembling as dread wed up her chest.

If she could just get Ophelia to the hospital in time, she knew she could save her. But watching her lose consciousness so suddenly made panic surge through her—memories of the past crashing in like a tidal wave.

She hadn’t been able to save Joelle back then. Now, she was terrified she was losing Ophelia too.

A cold, merciless dread sank into her bones, chilling her from the inside out.

“Chrissie!” Dn’s voice rang out as he rushed in, heart pounding at the sight of her—blood-soaked, shaken, but still standing.

“Are you alright, Chrissie? Are you hurt anywhere?” he asked, his tone thick with fear and concern.

“I’m fine. Hurry—we need to get to the hospital right now,” Christina said, her voice tight with urgency.

It was only then that Dn noticed the unconscious girl lying limp in her arms. Without wasting a second, he turned on his heel and started the car. The others stayed behind, cleaning up the aftermath, while the vehicle roared away from the outskirts.

They sped through the dimly lit roads, heading straight for the nearest hospital—exactly as Christina had instructed.

Ophelia’s condition was grave; she was fading fast. Christina knew that if they went to the hospitals in the city, she might not make it in time.

As long as there were proper surgical facilities, she was confident she could save Ophelia.
