Chapter 1341

    ?Chapter 1341:

She had expected resentment—anger, even hatred—but hearing Christina still call her “Grandma” shattered whatposure she had left.

The guilt inside her grew unbearable. If she could trade ces and bear all the pain instead, she would have done it in a heartbeat.

“Grandma, I know you didn’t mean for any of it to happen. It wasn’t your fault,” Christina said softly.

Maybe this was destiny—years of loneliness and loss leading her right back to where she belonged. Thankfully, life had spared her, giving her another chance to stand among those who loved her most.

Deep down, Christina knew they had never given up searching. Their love had endured through time and distance, and for her, that love alone was enough.

“How can it not be my fault? If I had kept a closer watch on you, you would never have endured all those years of pain,” Florrie wept bitterly.

“Grandma, let the past stay where it belongs. Look at me—I’m fine now. Don’t punish yourself for what’s already done. What matters is that you never stopped looking for me,” Christina murmured gently.

Florrie looked at Christina’s gentle nature and felt a deeper sense of guilt take root in her heart. But Christina was right—there was no reason to linger on the past now that they had found her. What they needed to do was treasure her from this day forward and make up for all the years she had lost. That was what truly mattered.

“Bonnie,” Beth whispered, gripping Christina’s hands tightly and gazing into her face.

Her voice trembled as she lifted a hand to caress Christina’s cheek. “My girl has grown up… You’ve gotten so thin… Oh, Bonnie, you’ve suffered so much.”

Tears spilled from Beth’s eyes as her voice broke, every word soaked with years of pain, regret, and love.

Beth longed for the day Christina would call her “Mom,” but she never dared to voice it aloud, afraid it might stir resentment or make Christina pull away.

Now that her daughter was finally beside her, Beth’s heart felt full—she wanted nothing else.

“Mom, let’s go home first,” Christina said softly.

Beth froze, certain her ears had deceived her.

Then tears filled her eyes, spilling freely as she nodded over and over. “Alright… let’s go home.”

Still red-eyed from emotion, the group left the forensic center together.

In Lionesspaw, Hurley and his three sons were practically tearing their hair out in frustration.

“Why haven’t we heard anything yet? Could there have been another mistake?” Gerry muttered, pacing the floor and gnawing nervously on his nails.

“Can you be optimistic for once?” Jordy shot him a sharp look.

“Both of you, quiet down,” Bain ordered, his brows drawn together. “You’re giving me a headache.”
