Chapter 1326:

    ?? ?? ?? ?? ??

Realizing what had happened, Nelly erupted in fury. “Katy! Didn’t I say I’d trade my life for Conrad’s? How could you be so heartless? How could you be so cruel?”

“Ha!” Katy sneered, twisting the knife with a vicious grip. Her teeth were clenched, her eyes filled with spite, as though hurting him was the only way to ease the hatred in her heart.

“Ugh!” Conrad’s face reddened with agony, veins standing out across his forehead.

The pain was unbearable, and before long, he slumped unconscious.

“No! No…” Nelly cried out, her voice trembling as she red at Katy with unbridled rage. “Katy! How could you—he’s your brother! You heartless girl! I raised you all these years, told you to protect him, and this is how you treat him? How could you do this to him?”

Her eyes zed red with tears as she cursed through her anguish.

Watching Conrad suffer was far more agonizing than feeling the pain herself.

“I’m begging you, spare him! I’ll give my life instead. Do whatever you want to me, just let him live. Katy… please, spare your brother. He’s your blood, my precious boy… please, Katy…”

Nelly didn’t realize that every plea she made for Conrad only deepened Katy’s hatred.

In her mother’s heart, Conrad had always mattered more. Nelly was willing to trade everything—even her own life—for his sake.

“Such noble motherly love,” Katy mocked, pping slowly, her gaze sharp with sarcasm. “I’m touched, truly. You’ve moved me to tears… hahaha…”

Nelly felt that Katy was losing her mind—no sane person could be this cruel to her only brother.

“Let Conrad go. I’ll take his ce. Please, call an ambnce and save him,” Nelly pleaded through her tears.

A dull ache settled in Katy’s chest. She had spent her life believing she was loved, yet she ended up like Davina—nothing more than a pawn easily discarded.

“Mom… I gave you a chance, but you didn’t take it,” Katy said coldly, her voice empty and her heart hollow.

    ??????????? ¢???ρ???????? ?????????????????﹒?????

Nelly’s choice had snuffed out thest flicker of affection Katy once felt for them, leaving nothing but numbness behind. Nelly stood stunned, not understanding what Katy meant. “W-what do you mean by that?”

Katy didn’t answer; instead, she fixed her eyes on Nelly.

The two of them locked gazes in a suffocating silence.

Nelly grew increasingly uneasy under Katy’s stare, a cold creeping up from her toes like icy fingers wrapping around her whole body.

An aura of death pressed in around her, as if she’d stepped into an icy abyss.

“If you had let Conrad die, I might have spared him, leaving his fate to you. But you disappointed me, Mom.” Katy’s voice came out t, without a tremor.
