?Chapter 1284:
“So what?” Besty barked. “You showed up and caught his eye. If you’d stayed the hell away, we’d still be together. He used to adore me.”
Her smile twisted into something bitter and unhinged, her obsession bleeding through.
She med Christina for wrecking everything—her rtionship, her peace, her happiness.
Christina listened, her brows tightening in disbelief.
Why was she being med for someone else’s mess?
“He chased me. I didn’t ask for it,” Christina said, keeping her cool. “Maybe aim your rage at him instead of me.”
“It’s your fault,” Besty scoffed. “Any woman who gets in my way pays for it.”
“Clearly, we’re not getting anywhere,” Christina said, pushing her chair back as she stood. “No point dragging this out.”
Out of nowhere, a waiter grabbed a knife and lunged straight at Christina.
Christina let out a cold sneer, blocking the attack with ease. In one swift move, she snatched the knife and kicked the waiter backward.
Before Besty even realized what was happening, Christina yanked her up from her chair and pressed the knife against her throat.
“Don’t move,” Christina warned coolly. “This knife could end your life in a second.”
“You really think you can walk out of here alive?” Besty shot back, her tone mocking.
“Doesn’t matter,” Christina said, calm as ever. “If I die, you’reing with me. I’m not leaving you behind to celebrate.”
Christina knew Besty’s obsession with Terrence ran too deep. She wasn’t the type to give up her life easily.
Just as she expected, Besty’s face drained of color. She froze, too terrified to move an inch.
She couldn’t tell exactly how close the de was, but one wrong move and she knew she wouldn’t survive.

Besty clenched her jaw, furious and confused at how everything had gone so wrong.
She had nned every detail perfectly, yet in a split second, everything flipped. Christina wasn’t the target anymore; she was the one in control.
“Tell them to step back,” Christina ordered, her tone calm as she tilted the de under Besty’s chin.
Besty’s whole body went stiff with fear. She didn’t even dare swallow, terrified the de might cut her open.
Damn it. If she failed to get rid of Christina now, she knew taking her downter would be nearly impossible.
Besty knew that if he ever found out she had gone after Christina, he’d make her pay a heavy price once Terrence returned to the country.
