?Chapter 1283:
“I love the coffee here,” Betsy said with an easy smile. “Try it. I’ll transfer the money in a minute.”
“Alright,” Christina said.
She reached forward—but instead of picking up her own cup, she smoothly switched them, sliding Betsy’stte to her side.
Betsy froze. The smile on her face tightened.
A spark of panic shed in her eyes before she forced it away. “That’s mine,” she said lightly. “You grabbed the wrong one.”
“I didn’t.” Christina’s voice was calm. She set the cup down but didn’t take a sip.
Betsy tried to reach over and retrieve it, but Christina stopped her.
“Why don’t I order you another one? Give that one back, okay?” Betsy said, trying to maintain herposure.
Christina lifted the cup slightly, bringing it close enough to catch the faint scent of the drink. Her lips curved.
“The coffee here really is nice,” she said softly, “but the people… not so much.”
Betsy’s expression faltered. “What do you mean by that?”
When she looked up, Christina was watching her—eyes sharp, almost amused. And in that moment, Betsy’s stomach dropped.
A cold wave of dread washed over her.
Had Christina discovered her scheme?
No way. Christina wasn’t supposed to be this smart.
Betsy tried to steady her breathing, convincing herself it was nothing. Christina was greedy, simple-minded—easy to fool. Her n was airtight.
There was no way she’d been caught. She was simply overthinking.
“Cut the act,” Christina said with a faint smirk, one brow arched. “Just tell me, why the hell are youing after me?”
“You stole my man. Isn’t it obvious?” Besty snapped, her voice dripping with venom.

“I stole your man?” Christina repeated, her brows knitting in confusion.
Was Besty into Dn? Had she found out about their rtionship ande to cause trouble?
“I was with Terrence first,” Besty hissed. “Then you showed up, and he ignored me. You stole him from me.” Her eyes burned with hate.
Christina’s brow twitched. The whole thing sounded insane to her.
“Believe whatever you want, but there’s nothing going on between me and Terrence. I never chased him,” she said evenly.
That didn’t calm Besty down. It only made her angrier. To her, Christina’s words implied that Terrence was the one chasing Christina, and that felt like a p in the face.
The man Besty was obsessed with didn’t give a damn about her. He only had eyes for Christina.
