Chapter 1270

    Chapter 1270:

Her words sliced through the room. The Murrays froze, their faces draining of confidence. Terence’s smirk faltered; Nelly’s expression darkened.

“What are you talking about?” Terence demanded, panic edging into his voice.

“I brought more of the poison. With people as deceitful as you, I had to be careful,” Davina replied, her tone sweetly dangerous.

“How dare you!” Terence roared, trembling with rage. His vision blurred; even the memory of that unbearable pain made his stomach twist.

“What did you expect? Knowing what you’re like, it would’ve been foolish to bring the real antidote. You would’ve stolen it already.” Davina’s voice was ice.

Nelly, who had believed victory was within reach, now burned with fury, her face flushing red.

“So you think we can do nothing about you? Once we catch you, you’ll have no choice but to hand it over!” Terence sneered, signaling his bodyguards with a flick of his hand.

    “Get her!” he shouted.

The bodyguards rushed forward at his order.

But Davina remained perfectly calm. Her two bodyguards were already engaging the attackers.

Just when the Murrays thought they had her cornered, several men appeared out of nowhere and joined the fight.

These men were far more skilled than the ones guarding the Murrays.

Within moments, the twenty-odd bodyguardsy defeated, groaning on the floor.

The Murrays had no time to react before the neers seized them.

Terence, who had nned to use the ashes as leverage, felt them torn from his grasp by Davina’s guards in the chaos.

It was finished. They were doomed.

A despair deeper than death washed over Terence as the truth hit him—there was no antidote.

“Did you really think I was that naive? I made sure I had a backup before agreeing to meet you,” Davina said with a low, knowingugh.

It was a tactic Christina had drilled into her—let the Murrays feel safe first, then crush their confidence.

Christina had also taught her how to make them turn on one another.

“You… you vile woman! You’re absolutely shameless!” Conrad snarled through gritted teeth, his eyes zing with hatred.

“Shameless?” Davina let out a mockingugh. “Compared to your whole family, I barely qualify!”

If only her mother hadn’t been blinded by love all those years ago—if she had been as shameless as the Murrays—perhaps things would’ve turned out differently.

Davina wished her mother had been more selfish, more guarded, less trusting of the snakes around her. Maybe then, she wouldn’t have met such a cruel end.

If she could turn back time to when her mother was still alive, she would do anything to keep Terence away from her—even if it meant erasing her own existencepletely. If it could guarantee her mother a peaceful life, disappearing from this world would be a small price to pay.

“Davina, sweetheart, I’m your father. You can’t treat me like this. Without me, you wouldn’t even exist. Give me the antidote…” Terence’s voice trembled as he tried to y the part of a father, twisting guilt into his words.

But that was exactly what Davina despised most about him. She loathed Terence—the vile, heartless man that he was—and she loathed herself even more for sharing his blood.

Her eyes turned cold as she stepped closer, her jaw tightening. Without warning, she raised her hand and pped him hard across the face, the sting in her palm sharp and satisfying.

Terence stumbled, his cheek burning as fear flickered in his eyes. The madness and fury in Davina’s gaze made his stomach twist—it was a hatred so deep it could swallow him whole.
