Chapter 1259

    ?Chapter 1259:

“You have no idea what you’re dealing with,” she boasted, chin lifted. “We’re from the Murray family. Cross us, and you won’t leave Jasgow in one piece.”

Simply saying the Murray name filled her with confidence. If they could arrange a marriage between Davina and Darian, the Murray family would climb even higher in society. Katy nned to find a wealthy match in Lorbridge, believing a strong marriage would lift the Murrays to new heights. These two nobodies had no idea whom they were provoking.

    They were finished.

“Big talk,” Davina said as she stepped forward, fixing Katy with a cold, steady stare.

Her contempt for the Murray family extended to these siblings, too. The Murrays were rotten to the core.

Katy faltered under Davina’s calm intensity. Fear began to coil in her chest. “W-what do you want?” she stammered. “I’m warning you… d-don’t do anything reckless. This is our territory!”

“Then I’ll teach you some manners right here, right now.”

No sooner had the words left Davina’s lips than her hand shot out, striking Katy hard across the face.

The pnded with a sharp crack. Katy’s head snapped to the side, jaw throbbing, ears ringing from the force of the blow.

“You actually hit me?” Katy spat through clenched teeth, her eyes burning with venom.

“I did,” Davina replied coolly. “What, did you expect a notice first?”

“You—!” Katy trembled violently, rage choking her words.

From a few steps away, Christina watched, a faint smile touching her lips.

She was the one who always stood by Davina’s side, no matter what happened.

Every bit of confidence Davina now carried had been forged in Christina’s presence.

It was Christina who had pulled her from the darkest depths of her past and taught her how to fight back.

“You will pay for this!” Katy jabbed a shaking finger toward them, her whole arm quivering with fury.

“Then make us,” Davina shot back without hesitation. “We’ll be waiting here.”

Fuming, Katy whirled toward Conrad. “Go get the manager of Morfort Restaurant. Tell her someone’s assaulting customers—they won’t let this slide.”

Conrad gave a terse nod. “On it.”

As he hurried off, Katy crossed her arms and fixed the two women with a predator’s re.

Everyone knew the owner of Morfort Restaurant wielded influence that stretched across the nation. Even the most powerful families in Jasgow knew better than to stir up trouble here.
