?Chapter 1257:
Ralphy shot back almost instantly, two messages in a row. “Oh, really? You think you’re better than me? You can’t even keep your own wife entertained!”
“If you don’t step it up, you’ll never even get a kiss. You’ll be alone with your nket, crying yourself to sleep.”
To make it worse, he added a mocking emoji just to rub it in. Dn couldn’t help butugh at that. A strong urge to brag rose up inside him.
But Christina didn’t want their rtionship out in the open yet, so he had to hold it back.
He’d already kissed his wife plenty of times. Ralphy should be the one crying to sleep.
Ralphy had no idea that none of his teasing had actually hit the mark.
Dn touched his lips lightly with his fingers, and memories of kissing Christina flooded his mind.
His cheeks and ears turned red. His normally cold expression softened with a hint of shyness, making him look even more attractive.
Suddenly, he found himself getting lost in sweet thoughts of Christina.
Meanwhile, on the other end, Ralphy hadn’t gotten a reply in a while. He smugly assumed his words had hit Dn hard. But after overthinking it for a while, Ralphy started to get restless and decided to text Dn again.
“Hey, you good, man? I didn’t mean to piss you off. I just want you to step up and finally win Christina over. That way, I’ll have one less rival in my way to win over Davina.”
“Don’t take it to heart, okay? Chasing women is tough, but chasing women like them? That’s a whole different level. They’re incredibly capable, after all.”
“Trust me, I get it. No matter what I try, Davina still won’t give me the time of day. But hey, don’t give up yet. We’re in this mess together. Hang tight!”
The nonstop buzzing from his phone finally dragged Dn out of his thoughts.
Dn scrolled through the flood of messages and let out augh. Ralphy really was something else, utterly hopeless. “Stop bothering me. I’m working,” Dn typed and sent. Then he immediately muted Ralphy’s chat.

All he could think about now was wrapping up his work fast so he could go see Christina in person.
Ralphy blinked at the screen, pletely thrown off by Dn’s reply.
Was the old, work-obsessed Dn making aeback already? Had he really given up on Christina? But Dn wasn’t the type to back down, ever.
Ralphy sat there scratching his head until his scalp hurt, but no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn’t make sense of any of it.
Christina and Davina were the first to arrive at Morfort Restaurant.
They lingered in the lobby, waiting for Magnus to appear. Out of nowhere, a man in a suit approached them with an unpleasantly slick smile. “Hey there, mind telling me your names?”
