?Chapter 1256:
“Soon enough,” Davina murmured, her voice low and filled with dark satisfaction. “I bought poison from the ck market. Sprinkled it on them. Every night, they’ll feel it, all the way down to their bones.”
The ck market? Poison?
For a moment, Christina’s entire body froze. Her mind scrambled to piece it together.
Then it clicked. Davina couldn’t possibly reveal that the poison hade from her, especially not with Ralphy standing right there.
“Then we’ll wait for them toe crawling for the antidote,” she said, her voice smooth, almost too calm. “Let’s head back. Morfort Restaurant is still open. We could use a nice meal.”
Davina’s face lit up, and she nodded eagerly. “Sounds perfect!”
She pressed closer to Christina, her eyes wide with adoration, her presence radiating a quiet affection that could almost be mistaken for something softer.
As they walked toward the exit, Ralphy watched them from behind, his jaw tightening. A heavy burn of jealousy simmered in his chest, slow and relentless.
Ever since Christina arrived, Ralphy felt invisible, as if no one even noticed he was there.
If he’d known things would turn out this way, he never would’ve invited Christina in the first ce.
He realized he’d basically shot himself in the foot.
Most men only worried aboutpetition from other men. Ralphy had to worry about women too, especially someone like Christina.
Burning with jealousy, Ralphy snatched up his phone and fired off a message to Dn. “What are you doing all day? If you don’t get to Jasgow soon, someone else’s gonna run off with your wife!”
Dn was buried in paperwork at his office when his phone lit up with Ralphy’s name. He had no intention of replying to the message.
But when he read the message at a nce, his heart skipped a beat. He immediately dropped his pen and picked up the phone.

“What do you mean?” Dn frowned while typing, a feeling of unease spreading through him.
Earlier that morning, Christina had texted him saying she missed him. And now, only hourster, Ralphy was saying someone was trying to steal her away.
Dn started wondering if he’d done something to upset her.
A few secondster, Ralphy sent a photo showing Davina holding onto Christina’s arm, then followed it up with an angry meme. “See for yourself! Your wife’s here, flirting with mine!”
Dn rolled his eyes, though he couldn’t help feeling a bit relieved. Still, he remarked coldly, “Maybe you should think about why your wife’s more interested in someone else’spany.”
