Chapter 1249

    ?Chapter 1249:

Ralphy frowned suddenly, recalling the powder she had thrown on them before leaving.

“That poison,” he said slowly. “Aren’t you afraid they might find someone to make an antidote?”

If that happened, they might nevere begging to her—and worse, they could still use her mother’s ashes as leverage.

“That won’t happen. Only that dealer has the antidote. No one else can undo the poison.” As she spoke, a sh of pride flickered across Davina’s face.

Ralphy caught it instantly. His frown deepened.

Why did that look of admiration appear whenever she mentioned that dealer?

Was it someone she knew personally?

Then it hit him—Davina always wore that same expression when she talked about Christina. Her eyes softened with a kind of reverence she couldn’t hide. That was what made him jealous.

Every time her eyes and voice brightened at the mention of Christina, it pierced him like a silent wound.

He could never match Christina—neither in physical fights nor in talent.

She even upied Dn’s full love. Ralphy could only swallow the bitterness that rose in his throat, choking on jealousy he had no right to feel.

For a brief moment, his thoughts brushed close to the truth—that Christina and the mysterious dealer might be one and the same.

But then his jealousy clouded reason, and the connection dissolved before he could see it clearly.

At the Murray residence, Katy lunged forward, tears streaking down her cheeks.

    ?????????????? ???????????? ????: g????????ν??????﹒?????

“Dad, Mom! What happened to you?” she cried, her voice breaking.

Katy and Conrad had only been gone a short while, yet their parents nowy battered and bruised.

“Who did this? I’ll make them pay with their life!” Conrad bellowed, rage shing in his eyes.

The sight that greeted him had left him momentarily stunned—their parents were beaten so badly they were barely recognizable.

“Who else could it be? That filthy little wretch from that whore—cheap, just like her mother,” Nelly spat through clenched teeth.

“Who?” Conrad frowned deeply. “Didn’t she die years ago?”

To him, Davina had been just as doomed as her mother—short-lived and long forgotten.

“She’s not dead—she’s still breathing,” Nelly rasped, pain flickering across her lips as she forced the words out.

“She actually dared toe here and hit you?” Katy’s voice trembled with disbelief.
