?Chapter 1245:
Still, she had to make up a story, and the ck market was as good a lie as any. Whether anyone could actually find it was no concern of hers.
Ralphy didn’t press further. Instead, he reached into the bag from earlier and pulled out that pair of sandals.
“Take off yours and try these on,” he said, his gaze steady and expectant.
Davina’s breath caught. “These sandals… they’re for me?”
“Of course they are. Who else would they be for? I had them made just for you,” Ralphy said with a faint smile.
“Custom-made? Then they must’ve cost quite a bit.” Davina’s earlier irritation began to ease.
Ralphy gave a lowugh. “They’re real diamonds—private order. Only one pair in existence. Over twenty million.”
“Pardon?” Davina stammered, eyes wide.
Had she heard him right? That meant each one alone was worth over ten million!
And he had told her to use those to p those two bastards? Even if not a single diamond fell off, just knowing their worth was enough to make her heart ache.
Those vile people didn’t deserve to be touched with something so priceless.
“Not that much, just a little over twenty million,” Ralphy repeated casually. He bent down and carefully lifted her legs, resting them on his knee.
Davina froze. No wonder—he was one of Lorbridge’s elite. For someone like him, spending twenty million on a pair of sandals was nothing.
She could spend that much too, but she’d never waste it on something to walk on. That kind of money was for property, for investments—not vanity. She hadn’te from wealth.

If fate hadn’t led her to Christina, she might not even have survived this long.
Forget luxury and status—she wouldn’t have had the strength or means to avenge her mother.
Everything she possessed came from Christina. Christina had given her a second life—and with it, the chance to take revenge.
While Davina’s thoughts wandered, Ralphy had already slipped the twenty-million-dor sandals onto her feet.
“Perfect,” he murmured. “They match your temperament beautifully.”
His eyes gleamed with admiration and doting that he could no longer hide.
Davina looked down at the glittering sandals. Her heart ached, yet there was an unexpected warmth in the way he treated her with such care.
For the briefest moment, that feeling almost surfaced—then she pushed it down.
