?Chapter 1243:
Davina’s hands trembled, not from fear but from the storm of fury building within her. How could they be this heartless?
What kind of monsters would go this far—killing her mother wasn’t enough, they had even sought out some fraud to curse her soul.
“It wasn’t me. Your father—he was terrified she might be a ghost or something ande back for revenge. He hired Wesson to do that,” Nelly sobbed, her words tumbling out in fragments.
Davina abruptly released her. Her voice dropped to an icy whisper as she spat out two words.
“His address.”
Nelly gasped, her chest heaving as her pulse pounded violently against her ribs.
When she hesitated, even for a heartbeat, a glint of steel shed—Davina pressed a dagger to Nelly’s throat.
Nelly flinched so hard it felt like her very soul jumped out of her body.
“Yes! Yes!” she stammered, panic spilling over, and hurriedly rattled off Wesson’s address without holding anything back.
“If I find out you lied,” Davina warned, her tone sharp enough to cut, “I’ll make sure your death is worse than hers.”
She turned away without another nce.
Nelly let out a bitter, soundless scoff inwardly. She was certain that she would get back at Davina.
Davina had simply been lucky this time. Next time, they would be fully prepared, aiming to drag Davina back to Darian’s bed.
“Let’s go,” Ralphymanded. The bodyguards released them and followed him out.

At the doorway, Davina stopped, something shing in her eyes, and turned back.
“What is it?” Ralphy asked, frowning.
“I forgot one thing,” Davina replied coolly.
Nelly had gone to check on Terence, but the moment she saw Davina returning, her body stiffened with dread.
“I already gave you Wesson’s address. If you want your mother’s ashes, get them from him. It’s really not here—”
Before she could finish, Davina pulled out a small jar and hurled its contents at Nelly and Terence.
Nelly screamed, assuming it was acid—but instead of burning pain, a thick, choking powder filled the air.
She coughed violently, struggling to breathe, eyes stinging.
Terence jolted awake, hacking and gasping beside her.
