Chapter 1157

    ?Chapter 1157:

“Yeah! Once Brendon swings by to pick us up, we should celebrate,” Katie added.

Ynda asked softly, “What about Christina? Was her work picked as well?”

“I didn’t check. I stopped the moment I saw your name—no way someone like her made the cut,” Katie sneered.

She was sure that Christina, staying at home all this time, couldn’t possibly have many real skills.

She couldn’t even tell how much of Christina’s past had been real. There was no way Christina had actual design talent.

“If Christina didn’t get chosen, she’ll be even more upset about that bet she made with us,” Ynda whispered.<fn3d50> Follow current nov?ls on find~novel</fn3d50>

“Why should we even care if she gets upset? She made the bet; she has to stick to it. If she can’t pay, she’ll end up as our housemaid,” Katie sneered once more. In the past, Christina always got the upper hand; this time, victory finally seemed to swing Katie’s way.

“Katie, don’t be so mean. If Christina can’t pay right away, we could cut her some ck,” Ynda said, adopting a kindly tone.

“I wouldn’t grant her a single extra day—why should I? She’s constantly been against us; how many times has she embarrassed us?” Katie shot back, her expression hardening as anger red.

Ynda let out a practiced sigh, pretending she was helpless against Katie’s stubbornness.

But inside, she was delighted. Soon enough, she would finally get a chance to gloat in front of Christina.

After the celebration, she nned to go through the thirty selected works one by one, just to confirm whether Christina’s piece had made it in.

Outside the gates of Bayview Estates,

“Isn’t that Christina? Stop the car!” Katie shouted.

The moment her eyesnded on Christina, she was itching to taunt her. Brendon remained quiet. He hadn’t seen Christina in a long while, and some part of him actually wanted to stop and meet her. His brows knit together as he noticed Katie’s eagerness to stir up trouble.

Without saying a word, he got out of the car. After more than half a month of careful recovery, he had regained his health. Ynda, seeing him leave the car so quickly, felt a wave of unease wash over her. Was he in a hurry to approach Christina? But then she reminded herself of all the things he had done for her. Clearly, she was the most important person in his heart. Her worry faded, reced by a satisfied smile.

“Brendon, wait for me!” Ynda called sweetly, hurrying out of the car to follow.

Christina had just finished speaking with Leona and, after watching her drive away, was about to leave when someone stepped directly into her path. She lifted her gaze to find Katie blocking the way. Her brows knit slightly, irritation flickering across her features. Christina knew exactly what Katie was after and had no desire to waste energy. She tried to step aside and continue on her way. But Katie shifted, deliberately standing in front of her again.
