Chapter 1030:
“Chrissie, may I see it ced on your finger?”.
Dn asked with anticipation.
Christina longed to decline, yet the words wouldn’te. “All right. Let’s put it on,”.
she breathed with resignation, stretching out her hand.
The sales assistant passed the cocktail diamond ring to Dn.
“Your girlfriend’s hands are exquisite. They outshine the brilliance of the diamond,”.
the sales assistant praised sweetly, her tone dripping with honey.
“Certainly, Chrissie is the most gorgeous woman.”.
Dn’s deep eyes gleamed like starlight, making them even more captivating. He sped Christina’s hand and slid the diamond ring onto her ring finger with care, his lips lifting in a faint, hidden smile.
This was the first diamond ring on Christina’s hand, ced there by Dn himself. He had never witnessed any rings on her fingers before, likely because Brendon had never gifted her one.
Christina observed Dn’s delighted yet tender manner, briefly sinking into thought. Back when she had married Brendon, he hadn’t even arranged wedding bands. Only when Bethel grew upset did Brendon grudgingly bring a pair of very in rings. He’d permitted her to wear them only when visiting Bethel, and afterward, she was required to remove them immediately. Others who wore rings frequently carried impressions on their fingers; she bore none for that very reason.
Christina assumed that after their divorce, Brendon had probably discarded those rings.
“Have you ever noticed how lovely your hands are, Chrissie?”
Dn’s remark jolted Christina out of her reverie. A warmth spread through her chest when she caught the sincerity in his gaze.
Years ago, Brendon hadmented with disdain that no diamond could ever look right on her hands, insisting that such sparkle only drew attention to their roughness. He never understood that those rough patches were earned through years of caring for him.
While a faint coarseness still marked her fingers, she realized now that beauty or blemish depended on who was looking. With Brendon, all she ever saw in his eyes was disdain. But when Dn looked at her, he acted as if her hands were something rare and precious, the most exquisite he’d ever seen. Dn’s kindness was worlds apart from Brendon’s coldness—Dn seemed to radiate care with every word.

For a moment, Christina simply watched Dn, her mind drifting.
It took Dn’s gentle voice calling her name to bring her back.
“What’s on your mind, Chrissie?”.
Dn asked, unease flickering across his face. Could she still be thinking about that scoundrel, Brendon? It seemed that Brendon held an important ce in her heart.
Even so, Dn would never let Brendon find his way back into her life. Regardless of where Christina’s feelingsnded, he was determined that no one—not Brendon nor anyone else—would ever hurt her again.<fn0d99> ?? ??? ???? ?? ???? ???? ???????s, ????s? ??s?? FιndNovel</fn0d99>
A bright smile appeared as Christina lied, “I was just wondering what would happen if I lost this ring by ident.”
