Chapter 1028

    ?Chapter 1028:

    “Chrissie,”.

he called once more, his eyes alight with childlike hope.

His smile was as sweet as his tone, so unlike the usual cool detachment he used to carry. For now, there was a softness threaded through it.

Christina felt her defenses falter under that expression of his, and atst, her lips parted in the faintest murmur. “Dn.”

The word slipped out so softly that even she could scarcely hear it.

    “Hmm?”.

Dn tilted his head, a subtle smile tugging at his mouth.

Christina drew in a steadying breath and spoke a little louder. “Dn.”

    “I heard you, Chrissie.”.

Dn’s smile brightened with pure delight.

Christina regarded him, a resigned smile curving her lips.

But the moment was broken by a sudden rumbling sound—it was Dn’s stomach protesting loudly. He pressed a hand against it in embarrassment, ncing at her with a sheepish grin.

Christina’s heart skipped a beat before it raced ahead uncontrobly. Why was it that even this foolish, unguarded side of him made him seem more endearing?

“What would you like to eat? I’ll go fetch you something,”.

Christina offered quickly, needing the distraction topose herself.

“Truffle pasta, lobster sd, smoked cod, caviar tter, corn soup…”.

Dn rattled off an extravagant list as though ordering from avish menu. Christina waited until he was done before gently suggesting, “You can’t possibly eat all of that. Why not start with the pasta?”

    “Alright,”.

Dn agreed without a shred ofint.

    “Good boy.”.

Christina couldn’t resist reaching out to ruffle his hair in praise. A faint color rose to Dn’s cheeks as he smiled, and once again, his stomach growled right on cue.

“I’ll ask the doctor to examine you first, and after that, I’ll bring you food,”.

Christina said, rising to her feet.

But Dn caught her hand swiftly, his eyes pleading with the innocence of a stray puppy. “Could Ie with you, Chrissie?”

Christina hesitated for a few beats before finally yielding. She decided she would feed him first and then apany him for a proper check-up. “Alright.”

Dn’s entire face lit with joy. “That’s wonderful! Chrissie is taking me out to eat!”.<fn1bc3> For more chapters visit Find~Novel</fn1bc3>

he eximed, practically bouncing as he hopped off the bed and reached his hand toward her.

Christina epted it, gently leading him out of the ward.

Yet, as he trailed behind her, a fleeting glimmer of cunning flickered in his otherwise innocent eyes.

Honestly, he had been fully conscious when Christina made her call. At first, he had intended to call out to her, but then he overheard her saying she wanted to turn him down gently. That was not the answer he desired, even though her words had wavered with hesitation. He had resolved then and there—he would stop at nothing to win her affection and carve an unshakable ce for himself in her heart.
