Chapter 200: Another Superbowl III

As the apuse slowly faded, the stadium remained hushed for a moment longer

Chester gave a small bow, nodded toward me, and then quietly exited the stage.

    Then I exhaled.

A soft chime in my earpiece snapped me back to the moment. "Jake, you''re clear. Get ready for the next set," Pepper''s voice came through.

I turned to the deck and started queuing up the next track

Back in the VIP box, I knew my friends were watching.

    ---

n, Judith, Freddie, Cara, Pippa and Carly had tears on their cheeks. Regina and Cher were holding each other in a tight embrace, just like Missy and Paige. Uncle Charlie and Evelyn didn''t speak, acknowledging the moment in their own way. Even Sam was uncharacteristically still.

    ---

    But now it was time.

Two hooded figures emerged slowly from opposite sides of the stage, moving in perfect sync. The lights dimmed again, not to darkness—but to a soft, moody blue. The crowd stirred, murmurs rising as curiosity swept through the stadium.

They met at center stage, standing silently for a beat.

Then, one of them reached up and pulled back their hood. Eminem

And then he began to sing:

Where Is The Love? (ck Eyed Peas)

?What''s wrong with the world, mama?

People livin'' like they ain''t got no mamas

I think the whole world''s addicted to the drama

Only attracted to things that''ll bring you trauma

Overseas, yeah, we tryna stop terrorism

But we still got terrorists here livin''

    In the USA,

The Bloods, and the Crips, and the KKK

But if you only have love for your own race

Then you only leave space to discriminate

And to discriminate only generates hate

And when you hate, then you''re bound to get irate, yeah

    Madness is what you demonstrate

And that''s exactly how anger works and operates

Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight

Take control of your mind and meditate

Let your soul gravitate to the love, y''all, y''all?

Then the second figure removed her hood, revealing Britney—who immediately took the mic and began singing the chorus:

    ?People killin'', people dyin''

Children hurt, and you hear them cryin''

Can you practice what you preach?

And would you turn the other cheek?

    Father, Father, Father, help us

    Send some guidance from above

''Cause people got me, got me questionin''?

    ?Where is the love? (Love)

Where is the love? (The love)

Where is the love? (The love)

Where is the love, the love, the love??

    ?....?

Up on the jumbotron, the screen transitioned from the performers to a powerful visual montage. Images of iconic wars filled the screen

As Britney reached the chorus once more, the imagery shifted.

Now, the screen was filled with smiling children—of all races, cultures, and backgrounds. Kidsughing, ying, embracing one another…

    ?....?

?We only got (one world, one world)

That''s all we got (one world, one world)?

As the final notes echoed through the stadium, Eminem and Britney stood side by side under the spotlight. Their voices blended in perfect harmony, carrying a message far beyond entertainment.

The crowd erupted in apuse once again—this time louder, emotional and united. The entire stadium stood on its feet, ovation after ovation cascading like waves.

    ---

As the lights slowly dimmed once more, I slipped away from the stage, vanishing into the tunnel. Pepper''s voice crackled again in my earpiece. "Phase two initiated. Exit protocol green."

Waiting for me near the service corridor were ten figures dressed identically to me—in full Marshmello gear, from head to toe.

    The decoy team.

Each one moved in different directions through out the Superdome, confusing anyone trying to tail or photograph me.

Meanwhile, I escaped through a secure escape route

    ---

Arriving at the VIP room, I opened the door.

The moment I stepped in, chaos erupted.

Everyone rushed toward me at once. Carly was the first to jump, followed by Sam, then Paige, Freddie, Regina, Cher, Missy, Pippa and even Cara

I was buried under a pile of hugs, ughter, and arms thrown around my neck.

"Ahhh, I''m being attacked, heeelp!" I said theatrically, my voice muffled by the group tackle.

    Laughter filled the room.

"You guys are heavy. Especially you two—Regina and Cher," I groaned from beneath the pile.

Both of them responded at the same time with knee strikes to my side—nothing serious, but enough to make me grunt.

    "Watch it, rockstar," Cher smirked.

"Yeah, we can still take you down," Regina added.

    As we all got up,

I cleared my throat dramatically and straightened myself up, with one hand lying back behind my head and the other as if looking in a mirror. "I''m aweeeesome," I dered in an exaggerated high-pitched voice, channeling Barney Stinson.

They all stared at me inplete deadpan silence.

"Let''s kick this smug bastard''s ass again!" Sam suddenly shouted.

Before I could react, she dove at me again with a battle cry.

Carly, Regina, and Cher weren''t far behind, pouncing onto the pile with grins of revenge.

Paige and Freddie joined the chaos, and once again I was buried under a mountain of friends.

"Paige, you little dog, stop biting me!" I said dramatically.

    She pinched me.

"That wasn''t me, that was Regina."

"E," I groaned. "I might need a vine for snake venom."

Regina responded by kicking me again, making the entire room burst into freshughter.

"The game''s back on," Pepper pointed out from the corner, her voice calm and face as stoic as ever.

She wasn''t so stoic when she first heard the song and my idea with the lights…

"Ahhh!" I screamed. "Move, move, move!" I barked like a general, scrambling out from under the dogpile and making a dash toward the seats to watch the game from the stands once more.

As I reached my spot, Uncle Charlie and Dad were waiting.

Without a word, they pulled me into a tight embrace—both of them wrapping their arms around me at the same time.

"That was incredible, kid," Charlie said with a smile.

"You made us proud," Dad added, his tone very emotional.

I patted both of them on the back and sat down in my seat. I ended up grabbing a beer, cracked it open, and took a sip.

"I think I deserve one of these," I said casually.

They bothughed, not making any judgment.

Mom and Gramma came after for a tight hug too
