Chapter 177: Party III

The cheers were still echoing when I raised the microphone again, grinning at the crowd.

"Alright guys, let''s keep the music going!"

A fresh beat dropped—this time it was Billionaire (Travie McCoy feat Bruno Mars)

I started singing, jumping straight into the groove:

?I wanna be a billionaire so fucking bad

Buy all of the things I never had

Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine

Smiling next to Oprah and the queen?

Paige murmured to Cher and Regina, "I have the feeling he already is," earning nods from both of them

?Oh, every time I close my eyes

I see my name in shining lights, yeah

    A different city every night

Oh, I, I swear the world better prepare

    For when I''m a billionaire?

"He is a little delusional," Miley mocked, probably still mad about what I said earlier. Missy was looking at her like she had no idea—though even Missy didn''t know I was actually a billionaire.

    I repeated the chorus again:

? I wanna be a billionaire so freaking bad ?

Yeah, not singing Travie''s part—too many future urrences. "Yeah, I didn''t finish that song, and the next one exins why," I added with a smirk, and I started a new song:

    The Lazy Song(Bruno Mars)

?Today I don''t feel like doing anything

I just wannay in my bed

Don''t feel like picking up my phone

So leave a message at the tone

''Cause today I swear I''m not doing anything?

Paige murmured again to Cher and Regina, "now is totally him!"

?I''m gonna kick my feet up then stare at the fan

Turn the TV on, throw my hand in my pants

    Nobody''s gon'' tell me I can''t?

    "nice!" Sam said

"Sam!" Carly admonished, "thiszy bum..." she murmured

?I''ll be lounging on a couch, just chilling in my snuggie

Click to MTV so they can teach me how to dougie

''Cause in my castle I''m the freaking man?

    ?Oh, yes, I said it

    I said it

I said it, ''cause I can?

?Today I don''t feel like doing anything

I just wannay in my bed

Don''t feel like picking up my phone

So leave a message at the tone

''Cause today I swear I''m not doing anything?

A group started whistling at the end, just like I had asked

    ?Nothing at all

    Nothing at all?

    ?Tomorrow I''ll wake up

    Do some P90X

    Meet a really nice girl

    Have some really nice kiss

And she''s gonna scream out: This is great?

I winked at Pippa, making her blush (matching the color of her outfit), and kept on singing

    ? …. ?

?No, I ain''t gonnab my hair

    ''Cause I ain''t going anywhere

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no?

?I''ll just strut in my birthday suit

    And let everything hang loose

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah?

"Why are you two looking at me? I''ve never seen that before!" Paige said blushing as Regina and Cher looked at her suspiciously

"Why do I feel like I''ve heard him a lot before?" Miley asked, her tone puzzled.

The answer came right after, as I started singing Something Just Like This followed by Closer.

    ?We ain''t ever getting older

No, we ain''t ever getting older?

As thest lines of Closer echoed through the speakers, I gave the DJ a thumbs up. He nodded and took over, seamlessly transitioning into another hit from Marshmello. The beat dropped and the crowd kept jumping and dancing as the new song pulsed through the party.

I made my way over to Pippa and kissed her

Cara and Freddie approached us, both grinning.

"You really know how to do a show, Jake," Caramented.

"Nice one, man. I recorded everything," Freddie added proudly.

Then both of themunched into a lovey-dovey conversation, which made me pull Pippa aside to somewhere.

I approached Missy''s group, catching Miley midint to Lilly. "Why did it have to be that annoying guy singing two of my favorite songs?" she muttered, clearly frustrated.

"But you can''t deny that he was cool and sings very well," Lilly chimed in.

Miley red at Lilly, making her stop. I approached them again.

Mika stepped forward with a bright smile. "I didn''t know you were the one that sings those Marshmello songs. You''re so good!" she said, beaming.

"Yeah, people are usually surprised to find that out. You might not know there''s a famous singer standing right next to us…" I spoke

    Miley coughed

I was already about to head toward another group of people when Carly and Sam joined us, stepping into the circle—also wanting to chat with Mika.

Carly looked at me with a smirk. "The Lazy Song is basically your anthem, Jake."

I gasped. "How could you say that, Carly?" I said dramatically.

"You sleep in ss almost every day, Jake. I have to wake you up from time to time," Pippa added with a straight face.

I put a hand over my chest, feigning offense. "Et tu, Pip?" I chuckled. "I''m being betrayed from all sides tonight."

"But he doesn''t do it all the time. He texts me, Paige, and other girls too, from what I know," Britney said, altering her voice so she wouldn''t be recognized as she joined the conversation.

"I don''t know if you''re trying to help me, Brit..." I said, giving her a sidelong nce.

The group chuckled a bit more before gradually dispersing into the crowd, each drawn by the different attractions popping up across the venue. The party carried on in full swing—there were games, contests, minipetitions, and even surprise performances. By the end of the night, it was already being crowned as the best school party of the year.
