Chapter 1251: Chapter 1263

Lin Dong shook his head, "No, you don’t really understand this Wei Yu. When the Wei Family had a funeral before, he didn’te back, let alone now when everything seems calm and nothing’s happening. Yet, he’s returned. I always feel that Wei Yu must have stirred up some trouble outside."
Lin Dong spected.
"Alright, even if he’s punched a hole in Heaven outside, it has nothing to do with us. Let’s hurry and get to work."
Lin Zhao, seeing Lin Dong still caught up in it, couldn’t help jokingly asking, "Or maybe you really care about him?"
Lin Dong snorted, "Not at all. Why would I care about a big guy? I’m just curious, just curious."
Lin Zhao chuckled and shook his head. He didn’t say anything further but started to focus on his work.
The whole morning at the Gambling Stone Field was calm and quiet. After thanking Lao Hu, Chu Ge escorted them out.
Lin Dong sighed, "With so many brothers sworn to follow, I bet Mr. Qian must have such a morous life."
Chu Ge smiled slightly, with a teasing tone, "Why don’t you go and join Qian Youquan’s group too?"
Lin Dong quickly waved his hands, "I can’t do it. I have no leadership skills, not fit for this business. But rumor has it that Zhang Tao is not doing well, and now the three leaders are urgently plotting something."
"What could it be? They’re probably deciding how to divide Zhang Tao’s fortune and territory after he dies."
Lin Dong shook his head, "Don’t know and don’t want to know. Thinking about such power struggles is really tiring. I’m more suited for a simpler life, just quietly doing my own work."
Hearing this, Chu Ge felt curious, "Lin Dong, how much do you know about Pang Ming?"
ording to Zhang Tao, Pang Ming wanted to prevent him from saving Zhang Tao, so he sent people to kill him.
Lin Dong frowned and lightly shook his head, "Pang Ming’s sphere of influence is actually simr to Zhang Tao’s, except they’re not as economically strong as Zhang Tao’s group. People say he is somewhat cynical, looking down on the powerful, so he only engages in some upfront business and avoids shady dealings."
Chu Ge pondered for a moment, feeling somewhat skeptical. If he really is cynical, how could he have climbed to the top?
To reach the top, one must be astute, and extraordinary in dealings.
"Where did you hear all this?"
Chu Ge asked curiously.
Lin Dong shrugged, "Of course, from the grapevine, also known as bathroom gossip."
"Your information is unreliable!"
Without waiting for Chu Ge to say anything, Lin Zhao scoffed and said, "The reason Pang Ming could rise to the top is because he’s ruthless. Saying he’s cynical isn’t wrong, but he got here because he knows the leaders’ weaknesses, what they want, what they’re afraid of. Besides, who doesn’t love money? Everyone loves it, including Pang Ming. We’re just unaware."
Chu Ge nodded, "Many things are just superficial appearances. To see their essence, it takes real effort."
Lin Dong stayed silent for a while, then nodded and asked curiously, "Mr. Chu, why are you suddenly curious about Pang Ming?"
Chu Ge shook his head, "Not really curious, just thought of it suddenly and asked."
Lin Dong replied with an "Oh," not asking further as it was nearing noon and the Gambling Stone Field started to be busy.
Chu Ge tidied up, prepared to go out and buy lunch for everyone.
As he stepped out of the Gambling Stone Field’s gate, he saw a luxurious extended Lincoln Limousine parked at the entrance.
A few people stood around the car, wearing ck uniforms, sunsses on their faces, expressionless.
Chu Ge took a suspicious nce at them, guessing internally who such a mighty personage could be.
Standing at the entrance, Chu Ge looked around as pedestrians cast curious nces at the car and its entourage, wondering who might be inside.
Chu Ge walked slowly away from the entrance towards the car and asked, "May I know who you are?"
No one paid attention to Chu Ge.
Chu Ge frowned slightly, guessing they must be waiting for someone here.
Thinking thus, he smiled at them and turned to leave.
After taking only a few steps, the car door suddenly opened and a man about forty-five years old stepped out.
"Mr. Chu."
He called out, stopping Chu Ge.
Chu Ge turned back to nce at him, somewhat puzzled.
The man wore a Tang costume, tall yet with a paunch, with a faint smile on his face as he approached Chu Ge.
Upon closer inspection, Chu Ge noticed he held two Liu Li balls in his hand.
"Mr. Chu, it’s nice to meet you for the first time."
The visitor smiled and said to Chu Ge.
A few others followed behind him.
"Who are you?"
Chu Ge asked.
"I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Pang Ming."
Pang Ming?
Suddenly, Chu Ge’s eyes narrowed, a dangerous gleam bursting from his gaze.
"What brings you to me?"
Chu Ge’s voice turned cold. Pang Ming had once sought his life, so friendliness was out of the question!
Pang Ming read a hint of release in Chu Ge’s eyes, "Seems Mr. Chu is familiar with me."
Chu Ge’s lips curled into a cold smile, "Having been pursued by your men several times, it’s hard not to know."
Pang Ming’s face instantly turned serious, ring at Chu Ge, "So you knew from the start those men were sent by me."
Seeing the act couldn’tst, Pang Ming stopped pretending.
Chu Ge inwardly sneered, "Thanks to Zhang Tao, I just found out this morning."
Pang Ming’s face turned dark again, "Do you know why I want to kill you?"
"I have no enmity or conflict with you, Pang. We’ve never had any dealings before. I really don’t know why you want to kill me."
Chu Ge chuckled lightly.
Pang Ming red at Chu Ge with a dark gaze, scoffing inside, "Do you truly or falsely not know?"
"Honestly don’t know."
Chu Ge said quietly, "Regardless of the motive, a person wanting my life standing before me seems dangerous."
Pang Ming frowned, his eyes suspiciously fixed on Chu Ge, "What do you mean?"
