Chapter 1928: Chapter 2029: The Downside of Rapid Development

"Brother Yu, long time no see." Wu Jing said happily.
"Yeah, how’s the situation over there?" Xiang Yu asked.
"Everything’s under control." Wu Jing said confidently, "The war between the rebel forces and the government military is nearing its end, and the rebels are about to be defeated."
"What’s the government’s attitude?" Xiang Yu asked.
"We have several bases in Little Pakistan, and they’re all discreet. Now we’re stronger than the rebels, so I reckon they don’t dare mess with us?" Wu Jing said confidently.
"Good work, try tomunicate more with the government military, but avoid shing with them. Still, don’t be too soft; we must show our stance, not threaten their rule, not interfere with their social development, and fulfill our mercenary duties." Xiang Yu emphasized.
"Rest assured, Brother Yu, I know the limits." Wu Jing hesitated for a moment before continuing, "Brother Yu, I feel there’s no future for development in Little Pakistan."
Xiang Yu also realized that, after all, they are a mercenary organization, and while they keep expanding, it has its limits. If they continue to grow, they might affect Little Pakistan’s interests.
Such a scenario would definitely lead to government intervention, even war with Xiang Yu and his group.
"What action is Wolf Fang taking over there?" Xiang Yu subconsciously nced around.
"They haven’t expanded and have maintained the status quo. This period has been quiet; they probably redeployed their main forces to Little Syria." Wu Jing said truthfully.
"Keep a close eye on their movements, and notify me promptly if any action urs. But remember, try to avoid conflict with them." Xiang Yu instructed.
Although Xiang Yu’s forces in Little Pakistan matched Wolf Fang, even surpassed them, Wolf Fang’s overall strength is still substantial.
"Understood. Brother Yu, I’d like to take a break." Wu Jing said.
Xiang Yu nodded in agreement, "Expanding too fast isn’t necessarily good; only by settling down can we develop better."
Xiang Yu and Wu Jing talked for a long time, including recent global situations, rtionships among countries, even discussing domestic satelliteunches.
"How’s the base construction going over there?" Xiang Yu eventually returned to the topic of construction.
"The base is mostly constructed; only refinements and improvements are left." Wu Jing replied.
"Alright, send someone to transport Jackson safely." Xiang Yu said solemnly.
Jackson is a genius in construction; the base he built in Little Pakistan is foolproof.
"No problem, I’ll send someone to escort him tomorrow." Wu Jing paused, then said, "Brother Yu, be careful over there. Shall I send a team over?"
Xiang Yu smiled, "Don’t worry, I’m fine here; no need to send anyone over, let them stay in Little Pakistan at ease."
The two talked about development before hanging up.
Xiang Yu knew that their forces in Little Pakistan were already strong enough to rival Wolf Fang, although Wolf Fang hadn’t realized this yet.
In Little Syria, Xiang Yu and his group stillgged behind Wolf Fang significantly, even relying on them.
Many essential supplies had to be obtained from Wolf Fang, and Wolf Fang surrounded Sun City; to leave, Xiang Yu had to pass through Wolf Fang’s territory.
While Xiang Yu was casually strolling in Sun City, Tie Zhuzi excitedly found him.
Seeing Tie Zhuzi so happy, Xiang Yu smiled, "What’s got you so excited?"
"Brother Yu, do you know how many people are in our self-defense squad now?" Tie Zhuzi eximed excitedly.
Xiang Yu thought for a moment, "Five hundred people."
Tie Zhuziughed loudly and shook his head, "Now it’s over a thousand."
Xiang Yu’s expression changed, not because they can’t amodate it, but because development was indeed too rapid.
Tie Zhuzi noticed Xiang Yu’s unfavorable expression and asked, "What’s wrong, Brother Yu?"
Xiang Yu shook his head, "Let’s go find Eck."
The driver approached, driving them to the self-defense squad’s location.
When Xiang Yu arrived at the squad, two people were lining up to join.
Upon hearing Xiang Yu was there, Eck rushed out with a smile, "Chief, what brings you here?"
"Let’s talk in your office." Xiang Yu said and headed straight to Eck’s office.
Eck gave a puzzled look to Tie Zhuzi, who shook his head indicating he knew nothing.
Eck entered and closed the door, "Did something happen?"
Xiang Yu shook his head solemnly, "The self-defense squad’s growing too fast; we must slow down."
Eck and Tie Zhuzi’s expressions changed; they were keen to expand the squad but hadn’t anticipated Xiang Yu’s concerns about rapid growth.
Tie Zhuzi, still puzzled, said, "Brother Yu, expanding is good; no one will dare bully us."
Xiang Yu nodded, "Expanding is good, but expanding too fast may cause trouble."
Eck quickly added, "These recruits have been thoroughly vetted andck backstories."
Xiang Yu shook his head, "I’m not saying the recruits are inadequate, but there’s surveince around us. If we expand too fast, we’ll pose a threat, and trouble will follow."
Tie Zhuzi didn’t understand Xiang Yu’s point, remaining silent.
Eck frowned, "Who’s watching us? Only Wolf Fang is nearby, could it be..."
Eck didn’t finish, then looked at Xiang Yu questioningly, "Chief, would Wolf Fang see us as a threat?"
Xiang Yu nodded, "Anything is possible; hence we must develop but remain discreet. If outsiders know we’re expanding fast, envy will arise."
Eck nodded, their rapid growth was due to Wolf Fang’s indifference. If Wolf Fang wanted to target them, it would be a mere word.
"Understood, Chief." Eck said solemnly.
Xiang Yu nodded, "As long as we keep low profile and act discreetly, we shouldn’t face major issues."
Eck nodded in agreement, "I’ll stop recruiting now."
He stood up and walked outside.
Tie Zhuzi, somewhat frustrated, said, "Brother Yu, I feel we’re strong enough not to need Wolf Fang’s protection now."
Xiang Yuughed and patted Tie Zhuzi’s shoulder, "Wolf Fang’s strength is significant, and our weapons aren’t up to par yet. We’ll take our time; eventually, we’ll grow strong."
While Xiang Yu and Tie Zhuzi chatted, his phone rang—it was Wang Qian.
"Are you free now?" Xiang Yu asked directly.
"Just finished a meeting,e over now." Wang Qian said, sounding weary.
"Rest a bit first, I’lle overter." Xiang Yu replied.
"No worries, I’ll be well-rested by the time you arrive." Wang Qian said with a smile.
Xiang Yu smiled and hung up.
The bond between Xiang Yu and Wang Qian was undeniable, but the matter with Wolf Fang was another story...
