Chapter 1773 - 1774: The Struggle for Power

Chapter 1773: Chapter 1774: The Struggle for Power

When Xiang Yu woke up, he was drenched in cold sweat. He knew what the drug was for; it was specifically to erode a person’s willpower and force them to tell the truth.

Back in the military, Xiang Yu had undergone special training, so generally, this kind of drug was ineffective on him.

But the drug was too potent. Once injected into his body, it nearly shattered his spirit.

Rff stood in another room. Seeing that Xiang Yu had woken up, he mmed the table heavily.

Hearing themotion from the room, people outside rushed in hurriedly.

"Chief, are you okay?" The guard saw Rff’s unhappy expression and quickly asked.

"Does this drug really work?" Rff turned his head to nce at the person in the white coat and asked grimly.

The man in white quickly stepped forward and said, "Chief, we’ve conducted over a thousand clinical trials. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this drug."

As he spoke, he looked at Xiang Yu on the screen and said, "If he’s not telling the truth, it only proves that his willpower is extraordinarily strong, beyond that of ordinary people."

Rff snorted coldly and said, "I don’t care about that. Just get him to talk."

The man in white sighed and said, "Then we’ll have to increase the dosage. But if we inject him now, he might die here on the spot."

Rff thought for a moment and said, "I’ll be back in an hour."

After saying that, he turned around and left.

At this time, Ailock was resting in his room, having entertained the heads of state from various countries, which was quite taxing.

He had to be cautious with his words, considering each sentence carefully before speaking, as it concerned the face of the entire nation.

The reason for inviting neighboring countries to visit now was mainly due to the domestic situation.

Currently, Little Bar’s national condition is turbulent, and he must ensure the safety of neighboring countries.

While Ailock was resting there, a man in ck approached and respectfully said, "A call from China."

Ailock was taken aback, then quickly stood up and grabbed the phone.

The call was from China’s Number One Leader, expressing concern for Ailock’s well-being and offering some words offort.

In this information age, the news of Ailock encountering danger while hosting heads of state had spread worldwide.

China’s Number One Leader had called to express his concern after hearing this news.

"Do you know who did it?" China’s Number One asked.

"We’re investigating, but it should be the rebels..."

If it weren’t for China’s Number One’s reminder, Ailock would have almost forgotten about this matter. After hanging up, he quickly took a note out of his pocket.

It read: "Rff has betrayed the country, must be thoroughly investigated."

Even though it was just one simple line, it shocked Ailock so much that he nearly fell to the ground.

The distant guard saw Ailock nearly fall and quickly ran over to support him.

    "I’m fine," Ailock quickly said.

Rff was the second most important figure in Little Bar’s military. If even he had betrayed the country, then who could be trusted?

"This must be fake," Ailock mumbled to himself.

But this thought lingered in his mind, like a thorn deeply embedded in his heart.

"Impossible," Ailock muttered as he paced back and forth.

"Someone, bring me that assassin from this morning. I want to interrogate him now," Ailock instructed.

His guard nodded, then walked outside, bumping into Tall Guy on the way.

Tall Guy had taken a stab wound to his leg, and after some simple treatment, he came over.

Upon hearing Ailock wanted to see the assassin, Tall Guy rushed into the room.

"Chief, that assassin was taken by Chief Rff," Tall Guy respectfully said.

"What?" Ailock mmed the table in surprise.

Tall Guy didn’t know why the chief was so surprised, but now he remembered something.

In prison, the assassin had mentioned he was the uncle of their chief. Could this be true?

Tall Guy was confused. If the assassin was really rted to the chief, then why wouldn’t he have just staged the assassination to draw global attention?

At that moment, Tall Guy suddenly recalled that during the assassination attempt, the assassin showed no real intent to kill, as if it was merely a formality.

Moreover, the dagger hadn’t aimed for a vital spot but had struck his leg instead.

Suddenly, it all made sense to Tall Guy, though he didn’t linger on it, as political matters were tooplex for him toprehend.

"Quickly, bring that man to me alive," Rffmanded.

Tall Guy, believing he had grasped the situation, nodded hurriedly and said, "Understood."

He then turned and walked out.

"Hold on," Ailock suddenly called out. He thought for a moment before continuing, "Take the Number One Army with you and make sure to bring back that assassin without fail."

Ailock made this a military order, and by having Tall Guy take the army, he was ying a risky game.

Though Tall Guy didn’t quite understand, he nodded and then called on the Number One Army to head straight for Rff’s location.

Ailock, in his office, was anxious. If the assassin was eliminated by Rff, it would be hard to verify anything about the situation.

With Rff’s high position in Little Bar, Ailock couldn’t easily move against him.

Though he didn’t believe what was written on the note, Rff’s reaction made the situation seem usible.

"Could it be that the rebels have infiltrated this area?" Ailock thought to himself wildly, then picked up the phone.

"Convey my orders to have the Second and Third Armies on standby," Ailock instructed.

If Rff were truly a traitor, Ailock wouldn’t hesitate to take him down.

Though Ailock held a top position in the military and couldmand all the troops, Rff was no simple figure.

He could mobilize all security personnel, which would throw all of Little Bar into chaos if they fought.

Tall Guy, following Ailock’smand, led the troops straight to Rff’s office.

The guards there, seeing someone approach, immediately raised their machine guns.

This was Rff’s office, heavily guarded, and without Rff’s approval, no one was allowed inside.

"We are here under the orders of Number One Leader to bring someone out. Quickly notify Chief Rff to hand over the person to me," Tall Guy shouted.

"Without the chief’s order, none of you are getting in," the guard shouted back.

"Hurry up and report," Tall Guy said impatiently.

He was acting under Number One’s orders, and any resistance was not a problem for him.

At that moment, he felt very satisfied, supported by the big boss...
