Chapter 93

Zachary was sitting in front of hisputer, reviewing the profiles of marketing department employees. He nced up at Yasmine and said, "As a team leader, Shawn led the charge to form cliques, making things difficult for the interns. Shouldn''t someone like that be fired?"

Yasmine maintained a nk expression. "Do you have any evidence to support your ims, Mr. Lloyd?"

While continuing to review the files, he replied, "I saw it with my own eyes. Do you think I need more evidence? Or do you think I''m lying and targeting them deliberately?"

"I''ll investigate this matter thoroughly, and for now, let''s put the decision about their termination on hold."

Yasmine turned to Shawn and Danny and said, "Alright, you two can return to work."

    "Understood, Ms. Lane!"

Both Shawn and Danny nodded, their faces disying smug smiles. Shawn even shot Zachary a triumphant nce.

Zachary frowned slightly and coldly remarked, "Ms. Lane, are you sure you want to be so biased in their favor?"

"Zachary, remember your position. You''re just a deputy manager!" Yasmine''s expression darkened.

As her direct subordinate, him speaking to her like this in front of others clearly showed ack of respect.

He didn''t want to escte the situation. After all, he had reviewed her background, and he recognized her capabilities as a manager.

He sighed and said gently, "Ms. Lane, I''ve just started working in the marketing department and don''t know all the ins and outs yet. However, I think your handling of this situation isn''t ideal."

Zachary maintained a calm gaze, meeting Yasmine''s eyes.

Her face hardened as she replied, "Zachary, I am the head of the marketing department. If you have issues with how I handle things, you can goin to Ms. Wayne!"

With that, she left the office in a huff.

Shawn and Danny exchanged nces filled with schadenfreude.

How foolish for a deputy manager who got his position through connections to stand up to Yasmine. This behavior was incredibly naive.

Now, it was clear that Yasmine held a grudge against Zachary. If Zachary''s work didn''t meet expectations, she would likely report him to Anya and push for his removal as deputy manager.

Without lingering, the two followed Yasmine out of Zachary''s office.

After this incident, Shawn and the others pulled back a bit, no longer making things difficult for y.

However, the workload assigned to him was still noticeably heavier than that of other interns.

At noon, Anya sent a message inviting Zachary to have lunch at the executive office.

As they ate and chatted, he asked for her opinion on Yasmine.

"She''s very capable, but she isn''t very tactful in her dealings with people." That was her assessment.

He nodded slightly and said no more.

Noticing his silence, she grew worried and asked cautiously, "Zac, you''re not nning to fire her just because she was rude to you, are you?"

"Not at all!" Zachary smiled, putting down his bowl and using a napkin to wipe the grease from the corner of his mouth.

Anya nodded, visibly relieved. "That''s good!"

"Alright. I have to get back to work now." He stood up, tidied the takeout boxes on the coffee table, and left.

When he returned to the office, Yasmine''s team had sent over some documents for him to handle.

He didn''t refuse and spent the entire afternoon sorting everything. Before the end of the workday, he ced the documents on her desk.

Yasmine opened the files to review them and then looked up at Zachary, saying, "MK Lloyd, Shawn has been with thepany for many years, and asthe team leader, he has considerable influence in the marketing department. I hope you can get along with him."

"I''m sorry, Ms. Lane, but I have a different perspective. I believe thepany needs talent who not only have ability but also possess a broad mindset. Most importantly, character matters!" ''

He understood she was trying to smooth things, but he stood firm.

Upon hearing his words, Yasmine pinched her be and waved her hand dismissively. "As your superior, I''m only giving you a friendly reminder. Whether you take it or leave it, it is up to you. Now, you leave!"

    can

    "Understood, Ms. Lane!"

Zachary nodded slightly and turned to exit the office.

At this point, the workday was over. He packed up his things and prepared to

    leave.
