Time flew by. When Zachary woke up, he was horrified to find himself sleeping on the bed in the master bedroom of the vi.
The master bedroom was Anya''s room.
Zachary sat up and massaged his temples which were aching with his fingers as he scanned around.
The renovation style of the room was slightly luxurious. There weren''t many things other than the vanity table needed by every woman.
There was a ss of water on the bedside table.
Under the ss was a sticky note.
Zachary grabbed the ss and gulped the water. Then, he took the sticky note and had a look.
"The breakfast is in the kitchen. I''ve kept it warm. You had too much to drinkst night, so just take a break today. I''ll apply for leave for you with thepany."
On the sticky note was the neat handwriting that belonged to a woman.
There was even a smile emoticon below the words.
Zachary stood there in a daze, trying to recall what had happened the night before.
He couldn''t remember anything from the night before no matter how hard he tried. Perhaps he had drunk too fast and gone unconscious.
Zachary got out of bed and freshened up himself before going downstairs.
Just like what had been written on the sticky note. There was breakfast prepared by Anya in the kitchen.
Zachary sat on the couch after having breakfast. Then, he grabbed his phone to search for the wild things people did when they got drunk.
20 minutester, Zachary was slightly relieved.
ording to the information on the Inte, a man couldn''t have sexual intercourse when they werepletely drunk.
"Thank goodness!" he muttered to himself.
Anya was pretty and capable. He wouldn''t want to ruin the life of a kind woman only because he was drunk.
Just when he was relieved, a call from his mother-inw, Fiona Lynch, came in. Zachary hesitated for a while before pressing the answer button.
"Zachary, I heard that you''ve filed for a divorce."
As soon as the call was connected, Fiona''s voice rang out. She sounded like she was ming him.
Zachary didn''t quibble and merely hummed in response.
"Zachary, do you really have to make things look this bad? I know I can''t stop you
from divorcing, but can you not bring this to court?" Fiona asked.
"Mom, I didn''t want to make a scene,
but Wendy refused to divorce. Ih no choice but to bring this to Zachary replied.
"Why don''t you withdraw the divorce? I''ll talk to Wendy. I won''t side with her. Don''t worry about this," Fiona assured.
"But..."
"Zachary, we''ve spent time together these years, so you should know me well. I won''t side with her since I''ve
said so. If you want a divot
respect your choice. I just don''t want things to look awful between you two, as others might beughing at you!" Fiona exined.
"Okay, I''ll withdraw the case, but I must divorce her!" Zachary could only agree to Fiona''s request.
After ending the call, Zachary set his phone aside andy on the couch. He looked up and stared at the ceiling.
Zachary was no longer obsessed with Wendy.
But now, he only wanted to divorce Wendy as soon as possible and cut all ties with her.
Wendy used to be someone he cherished the most, but it was different now. He only felt disgusted whenever he thought of her.
His phone rang again when it was almost noon.
It wasn''t a call from Fiona but Ellen.
Zachary didn''t feel like answering the call, but Fiona swiftly sent him a message on WhatsApp.
"Zachary, I helped youst night. Do you want to be an ungrateful brat?"
Just when he finished reading the message, Ellen called him again.
This time, Zachary answered the call.
"Zachary, you''re such a jerk. How dare you not answer my call? Did you know I was admitted to the hospital after drinking because I helped you to vent your spleen?"
"Did you say you were admitted to the hospital?" Zachary was stunned to hear
that.
He remembered that Ellen seemed fine when he left.
Ellen said unhappily, "Duh. You cane over now and have a look if you don''t believe it!"
The call ended as soon as she finished speaking.
The next instant, Ellen sent another message attached with a photo.
In the photo, Ellen had an IV drip stuck to her hand. She looked slightly pale, and she was pouting, looking aggrieved.
"Zachary Lloyd, I''m hungry. Hurry up and send me some food if you still have a conscience!" Ellen sent another message.
Since he had applied for leave that day, he changed his clothes and left home after pondering for a while.
He arrived at Ellen''s ward and ced the food that he had bought from downstairs on the moveable desk.
Ellen didn''t say a word the whole time when Zachary did that. She merely stared
at him and grinned.
