"Are you rted to the patient?" The medical staff looked at me.
I shook my head. "I''m just an acquaintance. If you need anything, you can contact his father."
In the ambnce, Julian suddenly sat up emotionally. "Serena, you lied to me. You actually lied to me."
"Is the patient going to be okay?" I ignored Julian.
The medical staff shook her head. "It doesn''t look too serious. He''s just lost a lot of blood and will likely need a blood transfusion. If you''re his family member, then pleasee with us to the hospital."
I denied it again, "I''m not. Please contact his family. I have other things to attend to."
Without paying any attention to Julian''s shouts, I turned around and headed back to campus. On the way, I kept thinking about what Julian said Alex was targeting the kes because of me.
What an absurd im. Only Julian would say something like that.
I didn''t notice the way the other students were pointing at me and whispering as I passed. It wasn''t until I reached the field where there were a lot of students that their discussions got too loud for me to ignore.
"So, that''s Serena? What a fake."
"Exactly. How heartless can a person be? Even if it''s a stranger, surely, you can''t just leave someone to die like that?"
"She''s just relying on her status as a heiress. People like her really know how to put on an act."
I was utterly confused and had no idea what they were talking about.
At that moment, my phone rang. It was L asking me to hurry back to the dormitory. When I arrived, I found L anxiously pacing around the room.
"Serena, did you go see Julian?" L asked.
I was shocked. "How do you know that?"
"Check out the campus forum." L handed me her phone with the forum page open. She seemed to be on the verge of tears.
The trending topic was, "Serena Ashford coldly insults Julian ke, leading him to attempt suicide."
I was incredibly surprised.
I frowned and said, "This video was edited. Someone''s framing me."
L said anxiously, "You need to
think about how to clear this up.
bret
you don''t handle this properly, you
might not even be able to graduate."
I fell deep into thought. Just when I was trying to figure out how to solve this, my
phone rang.
The caller ID disyed Justin Herbs.
"It''s the dean," I said to L after epting the call.
"What did he say?" L asked in a panic.
I let out a long sigh. "He told me toe to the office. It seems like this has already reached his ears. He might even be facing some external pressure."
L grew even more anxious. "What should we do? Mr. Herbs always acts like he''s the king of the world.
Serena, this might not be easy to
resolve."
I stood up and said, "I''m innocent. I''ll go to the office first. After that, I''ll figure out
how to prove my innocence."
