Chapter 485: Want To Be A Surrogate?

One fine evening, Natalie’s friends came to visit the babies as well. Natalie had given them the same time so all of them coulde together, and she and the babies wouldn’t have to meet them separately.
Mia and Cathy arrived with gifts for the little ones. The babies were sleeping, so they had to wait for them to wake up. But by that time, the cute gifts the two friends had brought were being opened. There were many expensive baby product sets, soft toys, clothes, and everything the babies might need.
"Why did you have to bring so much? It’s going to trouble me to keep all of this when my family has already bought things as if I’ve given birth to not two but a hundred babies."
The two friends chuckled. "Just use everything once or twice and then donate it to orphanages."
"Most of the things I might not even get to use," Natalie sighed. "But anyways..."
Just then, two more guests entered, walking inside leisurely.
"Where are our babies?" Vincent asked Natalie as he looked around.
"They are sleeping," Natalie replied. "Come, have a seat."
"Our babies?" Mia teased. "Natalie, aren’t those yours and Justin’s babies?"
Before Natalie could reply, Vincentmented, "What’s hers is mine as well."
Mia snorted. "Oh, how generous. So her husband is yours too?"
"Except for that one," Vincent said with mock seriousness. "That’s where I draw the line. I have standards."
Mia mock-gasped. "Oh no, don’t tempt me. You almost woke up the fujoshi inside me. Two brooding handsome men, under one roof? I might need holy water."
Vincent smirked. "Want to add another to the mix? Steve Davises to mind. A good old-fashioned threesome mightplete your fantasies."
At the mention of Steve Davis, Mia was a little taken aback but then said, "If you like him... what can I say."
"I am sure he would make a good bottom," Victor chimed in, the teasing smirk on his lips growing. "A man like him is meant to..."
"Shut up!" Mia said. "He is not...." Then she noticed the others’ gazes on her—Natalie and Cathy were staring at her.
"Whatever," Mia frowned and kept quiet.
Everyoneughed at her embarrassment.
After a while, the babies woke up, and the servant brought them to the drawing room to meet the guests.
Mia and Cathy couldn’t help but admire the babies, not ready to hand them back.
Vincent saw the two and asked, "Which one is the girl?"
"This one," Natalie replied. "Isn’t she cute?"
"Certainly," Vincent said as he finally got her from Mia’s hands. "But being just cute won’t do. I will take her away and train her just like I did with her mother and turn her into a strong woman."
"Don’t even think about it," a cold warning voice sliced through.
Everyone looked at Justin, who had returned home from the office and entered the room, his cold gaze fixed on Vincent, who had just talked about taking his daughter away.
Vincent didn’t bother with it and said, "I’m thinking for her own good. You can see how your wife is so strong now. You don’t know the kind of sissy she was when we first met."
"Hey," Natalie called out. "Don’t call me sissy."
"Really?" Vincent raised a brow. "Want me to show your husband some proof—and also refresh your memories?"
Natalie bit her lips. Now that she thought about it, those were truly some embarrassing days of her life when she was utterly weak—not just physically, but mentally. She would be scared easily and was always ready to cry over her weak situation.
"Alright, I am grateful for what you did," Natalie said and looked at her daughter. "But Olive won’t be like me. I will teach her better."
Justin, who heard it, said to Vincent, "She is my daughter. Fearlessness would be in her blood. You don’t need to concern yourself with her."
Ignoring the parents, Vincent looked at Olive, whom he was still holding. "You better be strong or I will personally train you like trained your mother."
Natalie sighed at Vincent stubbornness. Before Justin could say anything, she offered him a smile, "Darling, you freshen up. We will wait for you. You need to y with your daughter as well, isn’t it?"
Justin looked at his daughter in Vincent’s hands and left.
Natalie turned at Vincent. "If not for Justin worrying about cleaning himself before touching the babies, Olive would have been taken from your hands already."
"I can always frisk her away and he won’t be able to find her," Vincent said yfully.
"Don’t you dare," Natalie warned, as she knew how capable Vincent was. He would really do it.
"If someone needs a baby, they can just have their own," Cathy, who had been silent till now, mented—mockery clear in her voice. "I don’t understand why they want someone else’s baby."
Vincent looked at her. "The one I wanted to have a baby with—or could even think of touching—is already with some other man," and looked at Natalie, "Or I would have had dozens of babies with her by now. No one, if not her."
Natalie didn’t know what to say. Was Vincent truly so serious about her, or was he just teasing her like always? It was hard to tell now.
"If you don’t want to touch another woman, you can just hire a surrogate. No need to get physical if you understand how it’s done," Cathy said mockingly. "Just pay a good amount and any woman will hand you over the baby."
Vincent’s gaze narrowed at her, and then he smirked. "I will pay you a fortune. Want to be a surrogate?"
There was a silence for a moment in the drawing room as everyone exchanged gazes between Vincent, who was chill as ice, and Cathy, who was ring at him like she would kill him the next moment.
Before Cathy could react in anger, Natalie stuffed a baby in her hands. "Alexander wants his aunt to love him."
The moment Cathy saw the little guy and felt his warmth, she let go of her anger and paid attention to him—though not without warning Vincent. "I will see youter. You just wait."
Vincent simply smirked yfully as Natalie warned him not to say a word more. Vincent had a knack for infuriating people, and at this moment it definitely wouldn’t sit well with Cathy, who was always ready to blow up.
Justin returned, and the first thing he did was take his daughter in his hands, kiss her forehead gently, and inhale her scent. It was like when he had his daughter, he had no business with others.
Mia nudged Natalie, "Girl, did you lose your value?"
Natalie sighed, "What can I do when it’s my own daughter who defeated me?"
"Don’t worry, you have a son," Mia added.
"That’s why I’m happy that I had twins."
Mia looked at Vincent and Victor. "You two came without gifts?"
Just then, a few servants came in with two heavy boxes. It was a gift from Vincent.
"What is it?" Natalie asked.
"Now the babies can’t open it, so you do the honours," Vincent said, making it clear it was the gift for babies.
Natalie opened the two boxes one by one, and a gasp left her mouth, her expressions amused and shocked at the same time as if she got some sweet shock.
"Loved it?" Vincent asked. "Latest editions, and I especially customised them for Alex and Olive. They can be manually adjusted from small to bigger versions for kids and adults as they grow up," he added. "Both of them can start learning it from a young age."
Mia and Cathy moved closer and nced into the boxes that Natalie was observing in awe.
"What?" Mia eximed, only to be followed by Cathy, "Are you giving these guns to kids?"
"It’s above your brain’s understanding, don’t trouble it much," Vincent countered.
Then they heard Natalie, "Well, I will keep these beauties safe. Might start training them when they are over ten."
"I was going to say five, but your choice," Vincent added.
Mia and Cathy looked at the two in shock, as if they were just talking about some normal thing like ordinary toys.
Justin, who had taken a small stroll with his daughter, came over and looked into the boxes.
Natalie looked at him, "How is it?"
Justin hummed in appreciation but said, "Knives are still preferred."
By now, Natalie and Vincent knew Justin’s love for knives.
"You can keep knives for yourself," Vincent said. "Let the kids enjoy the guns."
"They are my kids. I am sure they will like knives more," Justin retorted.
"Are you guys serious about giving guns and knives to kids?" Mia asked.
Natalie looked at her, "The world is a scary ce. We have experienced it really well, so having our kids ready to face this scary world is alright. It’s only for self-defence and to hit back when it’s needed. Not like we are turning our kids into criminals who hurt innocents."
Mia was speechless. Though she understood Natalie’s reasons, giving dangerous weapons to kids felt scary to her.
While Cathy said, "You mean gangsters?" Her gaze passed by Vincent as she said to Natalie, "And that’s riching from you—having a gangster friend who keeps showing up with guns now and then, which he must have used to kill others."
It clearly showed Cathy was still not over her anger when Vincent offered her to be surrogate.
"Cathy, Vincent never killed innocent people," Natalie said confidently. "In the mafia world, not everyone is bad. Like there are bad among good people, just like that, there are good mafias among bad ones. You don’t know him yet."
"Like I want to know," Cathymented with a frown.
"Calm down," Mia told her. "We haven’t faced the world they have faced, so we shouldn’t judge."
Cathy said nothing and diverted her attention to the babies, though she passed a displeased nce at Vincent, who said nothing in return.
Saying anything would mean exining himself to her—and she was nobody to whom he owed an exnation. Besides, he was never the kind to justify his actions to anyone. What others thought of him had never mattered to him.
Sensing the silence, Vincent said to Natalie, "You didn’t ask for my gifts."
"As long as you don’t stuff my entire house," Nataliemented.
"Well, you still know me best," he smiled.
Later, the servants once more began to bring in gifts, and soon, the drawing room was starting to fill up again.
Those were the gifts from Vincent—but the man had brought a truckload of them, ordering everything that could possibly be needed for the babies.
"Aren’t you overdoing it?" Natalie asked.
"Just because they’re your kids," Vincent replied coolly as he leaned back on the sofa.
"I feel like I need to build another house just to store all these gifts," Natalie mumbled, but nheless epted them.
They all had dinner together and enjoyed themselves with the babies.
When Justin and Vincent got the chance to talk alone, Vincent asked, "So, how’s old Riverdale? Still breathing fire?"
"You can hop on a ne to the eastern country and check for yourself," Justin replied with a cold frown. "I’ll even sponsor the ticket—one-way, preferably."
Vincent chuckled. "Tempting. But I’ll pass on. Who knows he will probably show up here."
"He’s probably too busy trying to patch the cracks in his crumbling empire," Justin said dryly.
Vincent scoffed, "You still can’t deny he means something to you, can you? Damn, those blood ties."
"Shut your mouth and get out of my house," Justin said, voice tight. "Dinner’s over. So is my patience."
Vincent leaned back with a smug grin. "Aw,e on. Don’t be like that. I was just getting to dessert—your sanity."
"Keep pushing, and I’ll make sure your next meal is served through a straw."
Vincent stood, ughing. "Fears as always. Give my regards to your adorable knives. Maybe name one ’Vincent’ so you can stab it lovingly."
"Fuck off!"
