Chapter 484: Names For The Babies

Inside Noah’s car, Meira was sitting quietly, sometimes just looking at her own fiddling fingers and sometimes looking outside the car.
After a while, Noah broke the silence, "Ms. Meira, I will being to the university next week."
She looked at him, worried, "Any issues with my admission or studies?"
He shook his head, his focus on the road. "There’s a meeting for parents and guardians called by the university. As I am your guardian, I’m invited as well."
"I’m sorry to be a bother," she said, as she thought about something, "I know you are more busy now, Mr Noah. I will ask my brother to change the guardianship to—"
"It’s not a bother," Noah interrupted as as he finally looked at her, his tone calm.
As their eyes met, she froze for a while, unable to say what she was about to say.
Noah looked back at the road and said, "Mr. Aiden is already busy with work and need to time for the babies. Same for Ms Natalie. Mr. Aaron and his mother will head back to their home in another country with Ms. Marina. So, I’m the only one to handle this responsibility."
Meira understood what he meant that all the Handrix members are way more busy. She simply hummed as she said, "Then...Umm... thank you..."
"You don’t need to thank me. That’s my work," hemented in his professional tone.
’Work?’ Meira sighed inwardly as she looked outside the window. "Understood."
She was nothing but a task to him. Anyways, she had to ept it, as she didn’t want to burden people who were already busy. As Noah was the one to handle it, then he was better choice.
The rest of the journey went by in silence, where both of them said nothing.
-----
After spending a week in the hospital, Natalie had finally returned home with the babies. A small wee was arranged for her and the babies by the family, with everyone making their presence along with friends.
Natalie was so happy to be back home from that boring hospital room. Now here, she felt like a free bird, unlike the caged one in the hospital.
Two babysitters had been hired for the babies and were already present in the home. One grand room on the upper floor had been converted into a nursery for the babies, with everything perfectly designed and arranged. Natalie herself had designed it during the second trimester of her pregnancy.
Serena was going to see the babies in person for the first time after watching the pictures and videos shown by the family. Justin and Natalie each carried one baby and brought them to her.
"Mom, this is your cute little grandson," Natalie said while showing the baby boy in her hands, then looked at the one in Justin’s arms. "And that’s daddy’s little angel, who the daddy never lets go," she said in a sarcastic tone.
It was true that Justin would hold his daughter all the time whenever she was awake, and it was rare for others to hold her, while the son was always passed around to everyone. It was as if he were enchanted by his own daughter and couldn’t bear to part with her.
Justin didn’t mind her words and said, "She is beautiful, isn’t she?"
Serena nodded as she caressed the little girl’s cheek and then looked at her grandson as well, who held her finger the moment she touched his palm. Both babies were wide awake and seemingly getting used to their new surroundings.
"Have you two thought about the names?" Marina asked.
"We haven’t thought about them yet," Natalie said. "Though I have a list, I’m confused about which names to choose."
"Let me help you with at least one thing," Marina said. "In our family, we choose a boy’s name starting with the letter A," but then Marina hesitated. "I mean, if you want to follow it. If not, any name will be perfect as well."
Natalie thought about it. Marina, though she had left Aeldric behind, was still the mistress of the Riverdale family. How could she not have an attachment to it and the rules they followed? Though Justin didn’t ept thest name Riverdale, it was true that Justin and his babies were Riverdales as well.
"The name from letter A will do. I liked the idea," Natalie said. "It will match his father, uncle, and grandfather’s name." She didn’t mention great-grandfather Aeldric.
Marina’s face lit up. "Then we should think about the names," and looked at Serena. "You can also think about the name. After all, it’s your grandson."
Serena looked at the little boy, a light smile on her lips as she caressed his tiny palm holding her finger. "Alexander."
It was not surprising to hear this name from Serena. But all the family members agreed to it. It showed how much she still loved Alexander and that everything about her was still connected to him.
"I liked it," Natalie said, and others agreed as well. She looked at her son and said, "So, my son, from today onwards your name will be Alexander."
"What about our cute little girl?" Julia asked.
Serena looked at the baby girl for a long time, her eyes turning moist as if she was remembering something. "Olive."
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she said it.
"It was the name she had nned for her daughter," Marina added, letting everyone know the reason for Serena’s tears.
Justin put his hand over his mother’s while holding his daughter in the other. "Mom, I will find her soon. She will be back to us. I promise."
Serena hummed as Aaron came to her and wiped her tears away. "We are close to finding her. Just a little more wait."
As the atmosphere was getting emotional and heavy, Natalie said, "Okay, it’s decided then. Alexander and Olive. Such lovely names."
Marina chuckled, "When we find her, then an aunt and a niece will have the same name. We’ll have two Olives in our family."
Meira, who heard it, thought, ’And I will have three Olives around me. The third one is my university friend.’
