They talked the matter over for a bit, and then Elysia suddenly recalled something. She turned to Finnian and asked, "Let me ask you-has Dorian still been staying at your ce these past few days?"


    Finnian nodded. “Yes. Is there something you want me to pass along to him?"


    Elysia gave a short, coldugh and pulled a set of divorce papers from her bag, handing them to Finnian.


    "Give this to him for me, then. That saves me the trouble of mailing it today."


    Over the past few days, she''d been mailing Dorian a copy of the divorce agreement daily, but he never replied.


    Undaunted, Elysia kept up her routine her punctuality rivaled a daily newspaper. She believed that with enough persistence, Dorian would eventuallye to his


    senses.


    Finnian nodded again. "Alright, I''ll make sure he gets it."


    He put the divorce papers away. Just then, Will entered, saying, "Mr. Everly, Laurence—the one you met with this morning-called again. There are still a few issues left with the contract that need your attention. Would you like to step out and take the call?"


    Finnian hade back in the middle of a busy workday and still had a mountain of things waiting for him. Hearing this, he nodded and went out to take care of business.


    With everyone else gone, Elysia said, “Ama, there''s something I haven''t told you. This morning, Lucian Hale called and asked me out to dinner."


    It had been a long time since Amara had heard anything about Lucian, and she suddenly remembered that there had been something between him and Elysia in the past. She quickly asked, "Where does he want to take you? Do you even want to go?"


    "He suggested steak,” Elysia replied, resting her chin in her hand. "I''m still deciding."


    "That guy confessed to me before, but I have no intention of being with him. Now that I''m pregnant, I''m even less interested..."


    Sighing, she added, "Honestly, I haven''t even decided whether or not to keep the baby. It''s driving me crazy."


    Amara thought for a moment, then asked, "Are you thinking about getting married again someday? If you are, maybe you shouldn''t keep the babyf not, you could consider having the child."


    Elysia touched her belly and murmured, "really don''t know if I''ll ever marry again. It feels like my marriage with Dorian has left me.pletely broken-have pretty severe marriage-phobia at this point. Did you ever feel like that?"


    Amara nodded. “Definitely. All those years of unrequited love were just so painful. Having been through that once, I never want to go through it again.”


    "I used to think I''d just stay single and raise the child by myself, make a good life for the two of us."


    "But then Larry made those demands of me, and now I don''t even know if I''ll be able to keep this baby..."


    Talking about this, Amara felt a wave of sadness.


    Earlier, when she''d been in pain from contractions, she realized just how much this child meant to her. She was sure she wanted to be a mother.


    But she couldn''t just abandon everything with the Sullivan family. What should she do? It was a real dilemma.


    Elysia patted her on the shoulder. "You need to decide soon-the baby''s growing fast # you really want to end it, it won''t just be a to simple procedure anymore-it''ll be an induction."


    "You''re not that far along yet, but don''t drag it out. The further along you get, the harder and riskier it will be."


    Amara nodded. “I really need to make up my mind in the next few days..."


    The two women chatted a while longer in the hospital room, mostly about Lucian. In
