She really thought so. In her eyes, Amara was an especially quiet and reserved person; being around someone like that had to be dreadfully boring. Why on earth would Keith and Finnian be interested in someone like her?
Elowen frowned and said, “At the time, my father said he would give Amara the majority share of the family business if she got married, and then Amara was suddenly about to marry Keith."
"Even though itter turned out she and Keith had already been dating, I still feel the timing was just too convenient. Sometimes I wonder, were they actually together at all?"
Elowen wasn''t clueless all the time-at this moment, she was actually thinking things through.
Amelia remarked with a sly tone, "Maybe it was all a sham. If that''s the case, things could get interesting. I''ll look into it."
"All right, I''ll wait for your news," Elowen replied.
After a few more words with Amelia, Elowen ended the call.
After leaving the Sullivan family home, Amara returned to the Everly house. As soon
as she walked in, she saw Mr. Kevin Everly, dressed smartly and being helped toward the door by Lisa.
She asked curiously, “Grandpa, where are you headed?"
Mr. Kevin Everly didn''t look happy at all, which was odd for someone going out.
"I''m going to visit your grandmother''s grave,” he sighed. “I suddenly started missing her."
So he was going to pay respects to Mrs. Grace Everly-no wonder he seemed sad. Amara thought for a moment and said, "Grandpa, let me go with you."
She wanted to spend more time with Mr. Everly when he was feeling down, hoping to cheer him up.
"Alright, let''s go together," Mr. Kevin Everly said, taking Amara''s hand as they slowly walked out.
Amara didn''t have a particrly strong impression of Mrs. Grace Everly, since her grandmother had never been fond of her.
Whenever her grandfather invited
her over for dinner, Mrs. Everly never initiated conversation, and even when Amara tried to speak, she would barely respond. As time went on, they spoke less and less.
In Amara''s memory, Mrs. Grace Everly was somewhat old-fashioned and rigid, but her rtionship with Mr. Kevin Everly was very close
They had been togethe close
teens, spending a lifetime together until parted by death. Mr. Everly''s feelings for her ran deep
Soon, the group arrived at the cemetery. Amara helped Mr. Kevin Everly out of the car, with Lisa following behind, and the three of them walked slowly toward the gravesite.
As they neared the headstone, they saw someone standing there—a tall man dressed all in ck, his features sharp and serious. Who else could it be but Finnian?
They were all a bit surprised; it wasn''t a holiday or an anniversary. What were the odds that everyone woulde to visit the grave today?
“Grandpa, what are you doing here?" Finnian asked as the group approached. He nced at Amara, then moved to Mr. Kevin Everly''s side.
Lisa stepped back considerately, making space for Finnian, who then took Mr. Kevin Everly''s other arm. Together with Amara, the three of them slowly walked up to the headstone.
"I''ve been missing your grandmother," Mr. Kevin Everly said with a sigh. "I''ve been dreaming about her a lot these past few nights."
As he spoke, his eyes grew damp with emotion.
It had only been three or four months
passince Mrs. Grace Everly''s
passing. Of course Mr. Kevin Everly missed her dearly, he usually tried to hide it so the family wouldn''t worry.
"And you?" Mr. Kevin Everly asked. "Are you here because you miss her, too?" Finnian nodded.
