Chapter 642

Her jab at her own sister in such a setting was wildly inappropriate Fiona was truly furious and gave Elowen a hard stomp under the table.

When would Elowen ever grow up? She was more than a year older than Amara, yet Fiona felt her intelligence wasn''t even a tenth of Amara''s. Fiona was at her wits'' end and regretted not trying for a second child back then.

With a loud tter, Larry mmed his utensils onto the table. "How could you speak to her like that? Is that any way to talk? Don''t you understand anything about family?"

Larry had no idea about Fiona''s affair, nor had hepletely lost hope in Elowen- otherwise, he wouldn''t have left her that five percent stake; he wouldn''t have let her inherit a single cent.

At this stage, he still hoped Elowen could change for the better and maintain a good rtionship with Amara.

But Elowen continued to let him down, to the point where he even started to wonder if she was really his daughter. The Sullivan family had never produced such a disappointing child.

Amara shot Elowen a sidelong nce. Although she was the one being scolded, she didn''t look the slightest bit anxious or upset. She knew Larry and Fiona would stand up for her as expected, Larry was already giving Elowen a lecture.

Leisurely, Amara peeled a shrimp and ced it in her mouth, chewing slowly. When she saw Elowen staring at her with resentment, she even gave her a small, taunting smile.

That smile instantly pushed Elowen over the edge.

Amara was the one who had gotten pregnant before marriage and then been dumped so why was Elowen the one getting yelled at? And how could Amara just sit there, so calm and content, enjoying shrimp at home? What right did she have?

Elowen was both furious and deeply aggrieved. She put down her utensils, wiped her tears, and ran upstairs.

Seeing this, Fiona was so angry she nearly choked.

After making herself so unlikable, instead of apologizing to Amara, she just ran off— how could that do anything but make people even angrier?

Forcing down her anger, Fiona managed a smile at Larry and said, "Don''t be upset. I''ll go talk to her. The child is just too stubborn, but I''ll get through to her."

With that, she went after Elowen.

The dining room was left with only Amara and Larry. They continued to chat, mostly with Larry asking questions and Amara answering.

This time, Larry didn''t mention the idea of her ending the pregnancy at all, which made Amara believe even more that he''d invited her simply because be missed her, or perhaps because, at his age, he needed thefort of family.

Amara obediently kept Larrypany, but after leaving the Sullivan home, she was weighed down with worry.

She was already several months along. If she really didn''t want the baby, she''d have to make a decision soon. But could she really give up her child for the sake of an inheritance?

She was torn, and Elowen was feeling just as miserable.

After running back to her room, her mother barged in and scolded her to her face, leaving Elowen feeling even more wronged.

When her mother finally left, she cried for a while before making a video call to Amelia.

Amelia had lost even more weighttely; she clearly wasn''t doing well. All of this stemmed from her failed scheme against Amara, and Einnian a while back, which had left her resenting Amara even more.

The two of them vented about Amara for a while, until Amelia said darkly, "Why is Keith so obsessed with Amara? He wanted to marry her

even knowing she was pregnant. Besides her looks, what''s so special about her, anyway?"
