Chapter 591

But Fiona was actually trying to harm her...

Her voice was cold. "What are you doing at the Everly estate? How did you get in?”

Fiona''s heart sank. She had been in a state of panic, but only because Amara had caught her trying to kill her.

Now, it dawned on her that showing up at the Everly estate for no reason was highly suspicious. What was she going to do? Would Amara tell Larry about this?

If Larry found out, a little digging would uncover her affair with Andrew. The thought made her legs tremble with fear.

Amara narrowed her eyes, her hand still gripping the dagger tightly. "Answer me. How did you get in here? Who in the Everly family are you having an affair with?”

Fiona stared at Amara, her mind racing with uncertainty.

She had a terrible feeling Amara knew about her and Andrew, but she had no proof. Besides, Amara had asked who she was having an affair with in the Everly family, not specifically naming Andrew. So, did she know or not?

"What are you talking about?" she snapped. "I have a clean reputation. Why would I be having an affair with anyone?"

Still ying tough when you''re cornered, huh? Does she think I''m a pushover just because I''m usually quiet?

Amara sneered inwardly. "You''re still lying! You clearly have a contact in the Everly family, otherwise you wouldn''t be here in the middle of the night.”

"If that''s not it, then you must have bribed someone here. But how would you manage that? What have you done?"

Fiona was stunned by Amara''s sharp usations. She kept insisting she was having an affair with someone here. Did Amara really know about Andrew...?

At that moment, a wave of immense panic washed over Fiona, pushing all thoughts of murder and inheriting the Sullivan fortune from her mind. She had to deal with the immediate crisis!

If Amara exposed her affair with Andrew, she wouldn''t just lose the inheritance; Larry would kick her out the very next day, and without a cent to her name.

She had to do something, now!

With a thud, Fiona dropped to her knees, crying, "It''s my fault! I shouldn''t have tried to hurt you..."

"I bribed a maid at the Everly estate to get in here and harm you. I was blinded by greed, but I know I was wrong now. Please, just forgive me this once."

Sobbing, Fiona crawled on her knees to the bedside, grabbing the edge of the bed and looking up at Amara with pleading eyes as tears streamed down her face.

Amara was momentarily stunned by her performance, then a slow smile spread across her lips.

Fiona was only doing this because she was afraid of her affair with Andrew being exposed.

If that secret got out, Larry would kick her out of the family tomorrow.

Amara knew that if she pressed

Fiona to name the maid she supposedly bribed, she could push her to the breaking point, and the truth about Andrew woulde out.

But she decided against it. She didn''t want to y that trump card just yet.

She snorted coldly. "Fine. Just get out of here. It wouldn''t look good for me either if the story got out about my stepmother trying to set me up."

"Keep this to yourself and leave immediately. And don''t you ever

think of puling a stuntilike this

again. If there''s a next time, kw?n''t be so lenient."

Fiona breathed a sigh of relief, quickly thanked Amara, scrambled to her feet, and

    left.
