Finnian set down his utensils and nced at him. "You never visit unless you need something. I knew you didn''t suddenly show up for dinner just to see us. I should have known this was why."
He was mocking Andrew for never visiting his own father unless he had an agenda.
Andrew rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "I''ve just been busytely, haven''t I? I''ve been meaning toe see Dad. It just so happens that I needed to talk to you about this, and visit Dad at the same time."
It was a flimsy excuse, but Finnian seemed determined to press the point. "Do you even believe that yourself?"
That was a direct blow to Andrew''s pride. He let out a few loudughs to cover his embarrassment, but his expression had already soured.
Finnian ignored himpletely and stood up. "I''m heading back," he said to Amara and Mr. Kevin Everly, and then he left.
Amara and Mr. Kevin Everly had already finished eating. They certainly weren''t going to stay and keep Andrewpany, so they also got up and left.
Finding himself alone in the empty dining room, Andrew rubbed his nose, unfazed. He stood up and went to his own room.
Since it was alreadyte, he couldn''t be bothered to go back home and decided to stay the night at the estate. Unlike his wife, he wasn''t banned from the house, so he could stay as long as he liked.
He took a shower and, with a towel wrapped around his waist,y on the bed and scrolled through his phone. He decided to chat with Fiona. He hadn''t been in touch with her for a couple of days, and he actually missed her a little.
"So you finally decided to call me."
As soon as the video connected, Fiona said, "I was starting to think you''d forgotten all about me..."
Though her words were usatory, her tone held no hint of me; it was pure flirtation.
Andrew chuckled. "I could forget anyone, but I could never forget you. I''ve been crazy about you for over twenty years. How could I ever forget..."
Fiona knew he was full of it, but who doesn''t love hearing sweet nothings? She yfully chided him, though not with any real anger.
Then Fiona noticed something off about Andrew''s background. "Where are you right now? Are you at your father''s ce?"
"Yeah, I came to see the old man. It''s been a while."
Andrew had no intention of telling Fiona about Liliana, so he just offered a simple lie.
Fiona''s eyes darted around for a moment before she asked casually, "I heard Amara is staying at your family''s house these days. Is that true?"
At the mention of Amara''s name, an image of her beautiful face shed through Andrew''s mind.
Amara was truly stunning. It was a pity she was so well-protected by Mr. Kevin Everly and Finnian, likely out of his reach. What a shame...
"Yeah, she''s been staying here with my dad for a while now. I just saw her today."
As Fiona listened to Andrew''s words, a daring idea sparked in her mind like a sh of lightning.
Her heart began to pound with a mixture of excitement, nervousness, and a touch of fear.
But after a moment''s thought, she made up her mind. She gave Andrew an especially suggestive smile. How about. Ie over to see you now?"
At first, Andrew didn''t quite register what she said. When he did, he was incredulous. "You want toe to my family''s house to see me Right now?"
Fiona''s lips curved into a smile.
She was fifty years old this year, but she had taken excellent care of herself and looked to be in her early forties When she didn''t smile there wasn''t a single crews-foot to be seen, and even when she did only faint lines appeared. She was still a very attractive woman.
